It has been along time since we ate at Viviano's. Of course furniture has been moved around to allow for more seating. Of course, prices are higher than in the past but they are in line with other sandwich makers. I placed my order and had time to browse the small grocery area and wine selection and this where my disappointment started as they used to have so many wonderful and unusual items. No longer are those items there. They have a few different options but not the rows of unusual condiments, dressings or relishes. The wine selection is much smaller than in the past. My sadness continued to grow. The kitchen has always been slow but it did not matter as the food was always incredible. It was so nice to have this fine Italian grocer and restaurateur within 15 minutes of home. I had placed the order to go. I received my food and left for home. The food containers were opened and my heart sank. No longer were these sandwiches the hefty portion size. The taste was good but not impressive. It was just ordinary. I hope this visit was just a fluke. I will give it another try but if the results are the same, I will not be going back. I hope this was just a bad...
Read moreWe went yesterday for lunch after hearing good things and were incredibly disappointed. First we sat for about 10 minutes before anyone came over. When he did he was very dry not personable at all. He went got our drinks slowly got back. We asked him a few things about the menu and got short one word answers. Wasn't worth his time apparently. Our food came my husband got the bacon jam burger that was not good at all. Nothing special. My little one and I shared the avocado toast and it had absolutely no flavor and our bread was so hard the knife wouldn't cut it and our pineapple was not fresh and tasted like it had been unfrozen. We didn't even finish and our waiter never came back to fill our drinks or check on us. We had to ask someone to find him and if we could get our check. When he finally came he acted like he was so busy. There was 2 other tables besides ours one was just sitting talking and had already eaten. Another just got sat down. 😒 Really disappointed. Waste of our time and money. Also no kid menu at least we weren't...
Read moreI was a frequent customer of the old Vivianos location in the same plaza and was perfectly fine with the counter service format. I tried the new table service model of the new location and was completely unimpressed with the service and value for money.
The new lunch menu is extremely limited and my server informed me I can no longer order a Pick 2 meal. The prices are significantly higher than before. It's pretty insulting to look up the Olive location menu and see the same items for several dollars less.
I didn't want the standard fries as the side with my sandwich so I paid a $4 upcharge for a house salad. It was 90% bland iceberg lettuce with 3 baby tomatoes and a sprinkling of cheese. Rather sad.
I don't see myself coming back to the new format. I guess for now I'll have to travel across town to the Olive location to get my Festa Italiano fix before they screw up the...
