Working in Pediatric Hematology Oncology can be very stressful and today was one of those days. Parents being told their child has relapsed, a grandmother who provides care to a patient finding out that she herself now has cancer just hurts my soul. I decided today was a good day to try out Bone Fish Grill at 6711 Governor Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. I had been eyeing the bang-bang shrimp tacos and today was a good day to treat myself and my son dinner. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I placed my order for curbside pick up and choose to pay inside. I drove the 58 miles to Bone fish in Glen Burnie MD because I work in Fairfax VA and recently moved to Glen Burnie MD. I had not eaten here and was very excited too. I arrived 10 mins before my pickup time walked in somewhat lost because I’ve never been here before. I followed the signs that said Uber eats, Door dash pick up to a table that had bags of food on it, and right in front was my bag with my name on it. I stood there and stood there, I looked at people who looked at me, but never said a word. I walked over to the hostess booth and still no one. I walked back to the table where my food was hoping the bartender who had watched me come in would just say something like “Hi, someone will be right with you” but nothing. I can’t lie, I started to feel I wasn’t getting any help because I was the only black person in the restaurant. I was hoping this wasn’t the case, but I will never know. I butted in the bartender’s conversation to let her know I was there to pay and pick up food, but since no one even acknowledged me I was leaving the food right there on that table. Her and the guy (all white) thought it was funny, I did not. They probably thought I was rude, but I am not. I did call the store to let them know I walked out and the reason I did so. One of the managers Michelle did call me and afford to remake to food for me to pick up, or to give me a credit for the next time I may wanted food from there, but I just lost all taste for this restaurant and this establishment...
Read moreGreat food, great service, great atmosphere is what you will find here. Bonefish really offers a great experience, especially at this location. They don't have a large menu, which allows them to focus preparation on their core offerings and they really get everything right. And to keep things varied, they offer a small selection of seasonal specials to round out the menu and which are equally as good as their regular offerings.
My favorite entree is the Fontina Pork Chop. Generously topped with cheese, mushrooms, garlic, pancetta, and gravy the pork is always cooked to perfection. Paired with a delicious side like their rich Potatoes Au Gratin and fresh beans makes for a hearty and pleasing meal. Wednesday is half-price Bang Bang Shrimp day, which is their most popular appetizer. A mound of plump fried shrimp tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce over a bed of chopped salad, it is also a favorite in my family. The kids like it just as a meal! Everything comes with endless fresh bread and olive oil pesto to start, which is also so good you can easily fill up on that and end up with leftovers to go.
Along with the outstanding food comes great service. They have a large staff who are always attentive, helpful, and courteous. Even when it gets busy they are able to keep up the pace. The atmosphere tries to be a little more upscale, but it is still casual dining. And the facility is always clean.
So definitely give this place a try. The prices are on the high side of average, and a lot of the food is more hearty than healthy, but it is well worth the price...
Read moreMy fiance and I absolutely love this place it is our spot when we go out to dinner on special occasions, but today I had an all full experience with a young man at the host of station. I'm not playing any race cards but he wasn't young African American kid and he treated me like I was some bum off the street because I was using a gift card... Not only my union electrician but I actually wired that bonefish in Glen Burnie so that's one of the reasons I love going there. I had two gift cards with one with $20 on it and almost $11 on it and The bill was $15 in some odd cents. I asked him to use the $11 card first so I didn't have to carry two cards with me and then put the rest on the $20 card. And you would have thought I was asking for him to personally go back and peel the shrimp that I ordered and serve them to me one by one. He had an attitude and I did nothing but show him the most respect. It's a shame that how one person bad egg can make such an impact on a restaurant, but at the end of the day I was very disappointed and I was very close to calling the manager but I wasn't trying to call the scene. I really hope that they know who I'm talking about and he is reprimanded, of course I don't want to see him lose his job. I'm a firm believer that it doesn't matter what you do, you should always take pride in what you do. I don't know if he needs to be trained more or if he was having a bad day but that's no reason to take it out on a customer. Other than that I've had nothing but great experiences here The staff is great and the food is...
