Best Indian food I have ever had of the numerous local places I have tried. I have even had Indian food in the UK, & they have a ton of Indian restaurants there, mostly excellent. This is at least on a par with those I have tried there & in the area, if not better. Service is fantastic. The chai is real, not this fake stuff certain beverage places try to pass off as chai. They have an all you can eat buffet that we have enjoyed, over the lunch hour. My favorite dish so far is the lamb korma, but believe me, it has a lot of competition for the best they have. I intend to work my way through their menu one trip at a time (except for seafood because I'm allergic). The nicet thing about their regulat table.servoce.is the small chafing dish they bring for your food. It keeps things nice & warm...though please stir the food up before you put more on your plate, as the bottom.is very warm while the top is cooler. It's nice to be able to eat a leisurely meal & not have to worry that your food will be cold like you do in other restaurants. Even if their wonderful Basmati rice cooks off, the hot food from your mini chafing dish will warm it right up. I discovered Kashmiri naan bread our last trip...fantastic! The servings are enough to stuff a young, active man to the brim & I get 2 more meals from it at home. There is plenty of meat in the meat dishes, & you honestly don't miss it in the vegetarian dishes, theya re that flavorful.. They have a range of spiciness from mild to very spicy. If you are.new to.Indian food & nnot a big.fan of spicy, my lamb korma was spiced medium, &.my husband (not a big fan of.apicy food these days) enjoyed the bit I shared with him even though it was medium & not mild. Try that - it comes in vegetarian, chicken, lamb, I'm not certain about other meats but I think it does come in seafood versions as well. Their menu is online. Little India is like stepping fromma strip mall into another world of intimate dining. The restrooms are always spotless, the wait staff attentive. I don't think you can go wrong trying Little India evening it is your first time trying...
Read moreWe were working at in Brooklyn, Maryland on a 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat for our wonderful customers. We used Google Maps to locate a great Indian restaurant that was local and non-chain. We found Authentic Little India Cafe which was 9.0 miles away. Authentic Little India Cafe is a simple, casual and cozy authentic Indian restaurant with great food and beverages. They have a simple menu that is not too busy and has something for everyone. You can have a delicious and fresh meal coupled with warm, friendly, and very attentive customer service. The establishment is a really popular place with the locals and it is definitely a "Refreshing Change from the Chains!" It can get very busy in there so arrive early and you won't be disappointed.
Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by Mr. Singh, Proprietor for over 13 years. He was very friendly, pleasant, professional, and had a genuine smile. It was a Sunday around 07:30 PM and we were immediately seated, provided with menus and our beverage order taken. He was also our server and he smiled, welcomed us, and immediately introduced himself. We were fine with water, no ice, and four lemons. We explained to him that we were very hungry and that we located his restaurant via Google Maps.
For an entree, we shared the Tandoori Platter and order two House Salads. The Tandoori Platter was absolutely delicious and it paired well with the House Salads. Our meals were prepared, portioned, cooked to perfection, and served hot. The meat was very tasty and melted in our mouths. We usually do not order dessert but Mr. Singh provided us with a complimentary serving of Gulab Jamun which was different and yummy. He was very attentive, friendly, efficient, and happy to help! In short, the great food and awesome customer service made for an awesome dinning experience! We will definitely be returning here when we are in the Brooklyn, Maryland area to try some of their other appetizers, entrees, specials,...
Read moreWishing I had seen the bad reviews about the staff because they honestly ruined the meal. First nothing is spicy here the spice level is pre- independence. Second mr ponytail has learned not to verbalize his ignorance so now he makes sure to give black people a hard time. Sent my bf to grab the food and even though his name and phone number were on the order and he could recite his specific order, he was not given our order until he listed every item which he didnt know since i added some last minute things. They even waited and made him come to the car to get his phone. After he came back the man just mocked him and staff laughed along. We prepaid and tipped so its wild you would be like this. it was clear as soon as you saw him you decided he was not worth a good first impression.
Yes we are fully aware when people are just trying to joke and when people dont want us as customers.
While he was in there that same man was being rude and disrespectful to a black door dash driver who was just trying to get out the door. Apparently they are rude to all door dash drivers. Why? They are working too.
If you have had authentic indian food you will find this bland and not worth the trip. Definitely cannot compare to the quality of indian food available in Maryland. Id advise all black and dark skinned people of all various ethnicities to avoid this place it seems they just brought their unique brand of ignorance with them.
Its sad to see this behavior its so unnecessary. Its a choice to be and stay ignorant for no reason. Why is malice so dear to you? Im just glad there a so many better restaurants and not a reflection of our general experience...
