We’ve been wanting to try this place the past few times we’ve been to Fishers. Being from San Diego, raised in Monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽 , it’s important to get to know every taco 🌮 spot you can possibly find. In order to maintain accuracy of the review, we tried tacos only.
I had the carne asada (steak) tacos. They didn’t have al pastor, but since I don’t know the general demand for it in the area, hard to fault this. My assumption is that the meat was grilled, but it didn’t have as much crispiness as I was hoping (if they managed to get a little crispyness on the carne asada, they’d be 💯. Just a personal preference though). They were prepared in the traditional method - double corn tortilla, meat, cilantro🌿, onions 🧅. Add your own salsa from the salsa bar. It was tasty. Good flavor on the meat, tortillas were soft and flavorful. Wasn’t greasy. My wife had the shrimp taco, which she said was very very good. Shrimp was cooked well, charred a bit (which is how you should cook them for tacos), with pineapple 🍍 chunks and the aforementioned cilantro and onions. A good flavor combo for sure.
Salsa bar: Their salsas were very good, particularly the Serrano crema (also had jalapeño ranch, which fits the Midwest so well).
The staff: Very friendly, accommodating, and hard working.
Location: It’s a place where you could enjoy a few margaritas. Then head over to the park, then come back for...

Long review: I've been wanting to try this restaurant and tonight was my first opportunity. You have to order at a counter and they bring your food out. The payment system automatically defaults to tipping at 15/18/20% but you can change this if you don't want to tip. (My mistake not only to tip, but to tip as much as I did!). We were a party of three and there was at least 8-10 minutes between each person's entree's that were delivered. It was disappointing to have to eat separately and not be served at the same time. My fajita's were ordered without peppers, and when they brought them out it was incorrect. They left the side plate of beans, rice and lettuce to sit and get cold while they refired the fajitas. For the prices they charge for a main entree, you can get chips and full service elsewhere with real silverware instead of plastic. The food overall was bland - Needs seasoning! I normally give a place a couple of tries before I make up my mind, but I will not return....
Read moreThis is a hidden gem of Fishers and easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in the greater Indianapolis area. Every time I've gone there, the staff are super friendly and nice. The chips and salsa are complimentary and easily the best in all of Indianapolis. They have multiple salsa options that are not your run of the mill watered down salsas you normally get elsewhere. These have varying levels of heat and flavors, but every one of them is robust and amazing. The chips are also much higher quality than your standard Mexican restaurant. The main dishes are also phenomenal. You get so much food for your money and every dish is just a level above what you would normally expect elsewhere. They are also the only Mexican restaurant I've been to that does vegetarian/vegan options right. The veggie tacos/burritos are delicious and not an afterthought like other places. I cannot say enough great things...
