It’s a beautiful place but the food is not up to par. Service was good from LAURA but from the host and manager not great at ALL. My partner and I went yesterday to watch the game and called 2hrs ahead to ask if they do reservations or first come first serve. They said no reservations or holding tables if your party is not there because of the game to which we understood. Got there 40min before the game started and waited in line like everyone else. When it was my turn they said no more tables available but I could stand by the bar. Before I went to the bar, I asked if I could put my number down to be waitlisted. The host seemed like she didn’t want to do it or understand me. She then called the manager who was wearing a blue Colombian soccer shirt and I spoke to her about wanting to see if I could be in the waitlist just in case. She seemed annoyed but still did it. While I was waiting by the bar standing, I saw MULTIPLE people getting tables when their whole party was not there. A couple who was behind me got sat down first in a table for 4 people. Later the same thing continued to happen big groups behind me getting a table but not us even when 2 people would be in a big table. Later we got a table next to the couple that was behind us. We had a Half table but they got a whole table for them. Later those people that got sat down in big tables their party arrived 15-30min after the game had started and it was so unfair seen that other got a different treatment than us simply because we asked about putting our number in the waitlist. Don’t put rules you don’t enforce. Saying no sitting if everyone is not here yet and then sitting people before we got there is unfair. Service from LAURA was great. Oh and also if you know the workers better for you because you will have a table guarantee because we also notice that people who got there late would have a better table than most people simply because they know the host / servers. They would say hi to each other and kiss on the cheek and then get a table but others would have to just wait or not get a table at ALL. Kinda sad because it was...
Read morePersonally, I don't see how the reviews are that amazing, especially regarding the service. I would say it's an average restaurant.
Our server did not bring water to the table until maybe half an hour or so - and that's after asking for water. He did bring the ordered drinks though, but no water for those of us who did not want alcohol or soda. When the water did come, it tasted awful.
Management, for the price you charge your customers, the least you can do is provide properly filtered drinking water. We ended up purchasing bottled water because the pitchers of water were not paletable.
The server was hardly around, so couldn't even ask for extra napkins or anything else we needed.
The food was ok. Not phenomenal, but not bad. The salmon was a bit on the dry side, but still decent. The pico de gallo salad was a good accompaniment which solved that issue. The French fries were hot and crispy. Although I didn't have the steak personally, I was told the skirt steak was not very good, but the other steak someone from our party ordered was better.
The restaurant is spacious and seems clean. It's on the loud side, so I would not say it's great for a romantic date, but fine for group gatherings.
There are many other steakhouses that offer a better experience, both service and food. It does make me wonder about the numerous stellar reviews, given they received so many new five star reviews in a matter of hours, whereas my experience was mediocre at best. There is lots of potential, but it...
Read moreAguardiente is an absolutely amazing restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted with pleasant smiles and an extremely welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is beautiful. It's extremely clean. Even the bathroom was immaculate.
We had the Maduro, Guacamole y Chicharron Ahumado as our appetizer. It was spectacular. The sweet plantains balanced the slight saltiness of the crispy fried pork belly. All of that was laid on a hefty helping of fresh guacamole. And then came the main course. I ordered the skirt steak and shrimp topped with sauteed onions and cheese. My sides were a side salad and sweet plantains. The steak was incredible, deliciously seasoned and cooked to absolute, medium perfection. The shrimp were plump a juicy. The sweet plantains didn't have any off flavors like I've experienced in other restaurants due to them using deterioted oil. They were sweet, fresh, and cooked to the perfect consistency. I had La Triple Chimba with passion fruit to drink. It was a beautiful drink to look at. It tasted even better than it looked. The capper was our waitress, Laura! She was so pleasant and helpful. She took very good care of us from start to finish. She was highly knowledgeable and made great menu suggestions. If you want a true dining experience, go to Aguardiente!!!! One of the best dining experiences...
