Outstanding restaurant! We went to this restaurant during our vacation week at Disney in Orlando. There were 5 in our party, deciding where to go in the evening for dinner, being unfamiliar with the out-of-town places. Great decision!
Their food was delicious! Literally everything we ordered was exceptional. And the menu had a vast selection of everything from breakfast food to sandwiches to warm comfort meals. We had a 6-yr-old with us who also was happy with his selection. We afterwards ordered desert and a pick from their glass-case deserts to take back to our hotel, and both were so good! (Esp the lemon cake! It was called bread, but was really pound cake).
Their customer service was also exceptional. They went out of their way to be accommodating. They were out of something for one of our meals and compensated by charging only half price on an alternate choice. The waitress (Wish I could remember her name! She was a cute young black girl with a pretty smile) made it an even more pleasant experience with her kind, bubbly personality. She was very accommodating and hospitable. Hopefully the Bob Evans in Orlando knows who I'm describing so she gets coodos for being a really good waitress! (It was in August, 2019).
Pricing was very reasonable for the serving size. A plate of rolls was given to our table complimentary. The desert we bought to-go was a special deal which is what incentivized us to get it. And we all left satisfied and happy without spending an exorbitant amount like everything else around Disney!
We had never been to a Bob Evans restaurant, and now we're wishing they had one back home where we live (Baton Rouge). If we have another chance to ever go to one again, we will, and I highly recommend it for everyone...
Read moreThis review is about Thanksgiving service, which is my only experience with this restaurant. I want to try and be generous here, because they clearly swamped with the holiday and the fact that they were open for lunch at all was a big deal. But they clearly weren't ready for it, which is a failure of management, and led to one of my worst dining experiences ever. Here is just a few things from my lunch there: We spent over three hours here. It took over an hour to get our order taken, another hour and a half to get our food. When the food came, some of it was cold, and parts of the order were missing and incorrect. The meal supposedly included unlimited rolls or biscuits. We didn't get for most of the meal, and then after we had finished everything else they gave us two biscuits (for a table of 7) and told us they were out of rolls. For the three hours we were there they only filled our drinks once, and we had to practically beg for the attention for that. I will say our waitress seemed to be trying her best. She was probably new given how hard a time she was having just taking an order, so I don't want to be hard on her. But I am disappointed she got no support from the rest of the staff when she was clearly overwhelmed. If they had just kept our drinks filled and occasionally checked in on us during the wait I wouldn't have minded so much, given the holiday and all I can be patient. But sitting ignored for hours and then being served that was honestly an insult for what they were charging. I don't know how this restaurant is the rest of the year and honestly have no intention to find out. All I can say is don't come here for...
Read moreSaturday October 4th in the early evening: The staff provided one of the most unexpectedly pleasant dining experiences I have had recently. When I walked through the door, there was a patron searching for an inhaler. The staff dropped everything to help her look, and even though it was too no avail, they overturned everything to try to find it. This obviously was going to delay our service, but we were not in a hurry and paid no mind. Despite this, our server juggled searching, seating, drinks, searching, orders, searching, delivering, etc. Once they had concluded the search, this one server went into full server mode and handled the back log with a deftness rarely seen... all with a smile and a quick joke. While that was, alone, impressive, the cool served up steak tips and a lemon chicken beast that was marinated, sautéed and delivered with such flavor that I forgot I was at Bob Evans. If that wasn't good enough, it came with buttered broccoli, how they did it, I don't know, but the broccoli was tender yet fresh and not overcooked and steeped in flavors that elevated it beyond any expectation. It figuratively knocked my socks off. The worst on our plate was still good. I was very impressed. We supporting for dessert and I got the chocolate chip cookie dough pie. If you are a fan of sneaking into the kitchen to sneak a fresh out of the oven cookie still cooling on the rack and sneaking it into your mouth before it becomes solid... this...
