Let me just start with the cheddars cooks. for a friday night, in season In such a high traffic area you really dropped the ball tonight. Extremely disappointed. Every single person at my table had an issue with their meal. My brothers rice had an off after taste and the chicken was dry (lime chicken meal), my mothers steak (med rare 6oz sirloin) was damn near rubber, i could of bounced it off the floor (bad cut/bad cook hard to say). Dads ribs we tough and no where near fall off the bone, myself chose the meat loaf......big mistake. I love meatloaf and have never had a worse meatloaf. Dry and burnt to hell. The glaze on top of any meatloaf is not ment to be burnt to almost unrecognizable lengths. U couldnt even tell what the glaze was or if there was one to begin with. It was so burnt the entire thing tasted like charcoal which then spread to other parts of my meal everything tasted like charcoal. Kids alfredo meal never mentioned Chicken but it came with chicken and my kid refused to eat because the chicken touched his pasta (autistic trigger of food touching). Now to FOH.......some of u just look defeated and others look like they r trying their best to just keep it going. Walk in and i start looking around for my other family members. my brother does as well the host kind of instruct us that large parties r over there and my brother says it might be under this name or that name and a party of 5 if that helps they completely ignore him and continue their conversation .and we help ourselves to look around the resturant for our party on our own since they couldnt be bothered to help us. Then whoever thought sitting 5 people in that tiny booth either didnt ask how many people were in the party and just assumed since there were only two people standing in front of them or has no idea how big their booths really are. Never assume always ask. Im literally sitting one cheek on one cheek off and im catching bows to the ribs all night. The host could of prevented that had we been sat properly but it could of also been caught by our server making our experience more enjoyable. Bussers, man i personally love having u guys around but tonight u could cut the tension in the dinning room with a knife, the way u were slamming dishes into the tubs and then ripping the tubs off the tables causing more unnecessary noise. i stopped my conversation at least 3 times because no one could hear me and i had to keep repeating myself till u left the room. everyone was staring at u. Service, service was great he checked on us, he was very patient, he answered questions and he got things if we asked in a timely manner as much as he could of in my opinion. Drinks from service bar did take quite a while (15/20min) wether it was they sat there forgetten about or the bartender was backed up either way when i get a drink brought back to me with 95% of the ice melted and the glass is sweating to the extent that i couldnt hold it something went wrong somewhere. Ive been here maybe 3 or 4 times and i mean its never been anything special or the place I picked for dinner. nothing about ur resturant makes me remeber u guys or blows my mind enough to think of u for future evenings out. I feel like your resturant could be great if even the smallest of details u hit the mark on or made memorable experiences for people. Its a good location, the atmosphere is clean, cozy and inviting so getting guests in the door shouldnt be an issue but its your job to keep them coming back and tonight was not it. I cant say i...
Read moreToday was my first trip to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. I have a lot of positive things to say after this experience; the restaurant was impressively clean, the relaxing ambience was quite a pleasant surprise (this is not a boisterous establishment where you will struggle to enjoy your company and have to speak over loud noise), and the pricing is beyond reasonable and one of the best deals that I've seen in a long time for the quality and quanity of food. I also was very happy with our server and I regret not asking for his name again to give him the recognition he deserves in this comment but he was friendly and very attentive to taking care of our table. The one issue that I had is my fiance ordered a medium-rare steak and her first one came out well done; we informed our server about the overcooked steak and he handled it perfectly, apologizing for the mistake and taking it right back to the kitchen and assuring my fiance a new one will be started right away. Now, the remake came out and this steak was extremely rare. My fiance isn't the type to want to be a burden so I let our server know at this point that her steak was cooked to the wrong temperature again and he was very professional throughout all of this and apologized once again and took the steak back promptly. The same steak was brought back after being thrown back on the grill which I have no problem with and at this time the error was finally resolved but after all the time this took, everyone had already finished their meal when my fiance was finally getting the main item of her entree. I worked in the restaurant industry for many years as a kitchen manager and a restaurant manager and I had my protocol for handling matters like this and I would have appreciated a manager coming out to the table and apologize for the mishap. Hey, these things happen but a quick table touch especially for a first time guest would have spoken volumes about the customer service from the bottom up. I wasn't looking for a handout but considering no member of management came out to our table maybe the gesture of taking our dessert off the bill would have been nice but nothing was done to go above and beyond that said "we made a mistake but I want to make sure you still have the best possible experience." Nonetheless, there isn't much I can put in the negative column as this was a pleasant overall time spent here and I plan on visiting Cheddar's again...
Read moreI am writing this to express my profound disappointment regarding a recent experience at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen that revealed a severe and systemic failure in their customer service. (Cheddar’s address: 10040 University Plaza Dr, Fort Myers.) My friends, my wife, and I chose Cheddar’s to celebrate my college graduation. The event was soured by an incident that was mishandled from the moment we returned. Within less than 30 minutes of our departure, we returned to the restaurant after realizing my graduation gift, a distinctive, square envelope containing a graduation card and $250 was left on our table. Despite the short timeframe, we were met with a baffling lack of cooperation from the staff and management. We spoke with two managers, Cindy L. Hogg and Harley. All refused to allow us to check the table, citing an unwillingness to "collaborate" on the issue. In my previous work experience, it was standard practice to secure any valuable item left behind, such as a credit card or ID, and announce it to staff. The fact that the card was not recovered or reported by Cheddar’s team, including the server name “Loch Loch” and the busser's table, who left right after we went to our car, suggests a blatant disregard for customer belongings. This complete lack of support was exacerbated by a futile attempt to seek help from the corporate office. We were told to contact the very management team that had just proven unhelpful, creating an unacceptable cycle of negligence. This experience is a clear indication that the restaurant or the responsible individuals are unprepared to handle even the most basic customer issues with integrity. A restaurant's reputation is built on both its product and its service. The behavior of the managers and the staff in this critical moment was entirely unacceptable. This incident has transformed my perception of their business from a trusted local favorite into a cautionary tale. Given the complete lack of accountability and collaboration shown by the team, especially the manager, I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to others again. It is deeply concerning that a patron can suffer such a loss and be met with apathy from the very individuals responsible for ensuring a positive and secure...
