Mr Tequila Authentic Mexican — Restaurant in San Carlos Park

Stopped in Saturday afternoon 7/26/25 just to kill time while waiting on my car that was getting tire-work done at Costco….and best way to kill time period! Sat at the bar and Armando made the BEST SPICY MARG! I’m vegan - so I ordered bean burrito (both refried and black beans are vegan friendly, btw - but rice is cooked with broth) and it was fantastic! I am usually not able to enjoy refried beans while dining out because most places add some sort of animal product in them, but Mr. Tequila does not and they MADE MY DAY!! Their guacamole was very fresh with big chunks of avocado in it - it was truly delicious and tasted very homestyle and that was so delicious to me because I could literally snack on it ALL DAY. This is really a very, very good spot/restaurant/experience. I will not think twice about coming back, at all! 100% worth the visit and their customer service is top notch - hostess was sweet and friendly, Armando was absolutely fabulous (honestly!) and the Luis was super fantastic too, and the chef was truly perfect!! I wanted to take a moment to share my experience from my recent visit to your establishment.

First and foremost, I must commend the food; it was truly exceptional! The flavors and presentation were outstanding. The drinks were satisfactory, but unfortunately, I was disappointed with the service we received this evening.

Regrettably, my waitress did not return to check on us throughout our meal, as she seemed preoccupied at the bar. I have always enjoyed remarkable service during my previous visits, which makes this experience particularly surprising.

Hate leaving bad reviews, but we did not enjoy at all. I ordered something really simple (chicken breast and veggies) and the chicken was practically inedible. Veggies had absolutely no flavor. It tasted like they threw it on the menu to have a healthier options but put not love and/or effort into it whatsoever. Margaritas were HUGE and the price was right, but that’s about the only positive. Server was friendly but seemed new to the job and likely should’ve still been training.
