Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Florida

I dont want to get into detail about how all that was wrong with both of our meals. It was a tough hot weekend. My well deserved man and I went to Ellenton Chilis. I know the Hospitality Industry is tough now, but rolling the dice on 80$ meal makes going out, SO less appealing. I upgraded my sides to my hlf slab of ribs, hoping to bite into some juicy "Street corn, and the loaded mashed potatoes. Instead, I was delivered warmish fries and dead dry cob of corn on a stick. It literally looked liked it was taken out of the garbage and nuked for 20 seconds. We were sitting at the bar, as we usually do, and the tender was obiviously pretty busy working alone,with a full bar as well as tending to servers drink orders too. Understandably, we had to wait a good while for him to to ask if everything was alright. My boyfriends Ribeye was cooked right, and looked good (uncommon) but he was missing the shrimp. Ironically, the couple next to us ordered the same entree, also missing shrimp that I pointed out to them! 😬. I hate to be so critical. Ive been in the restaurant business for 30 years. Every position is challenging and good help is really hard to come by now. Chilis is known for their "baby back" ribs. Sadly, tipped employees are paying the price for lack of good management. Our bill was partially comped for the wrong/missing food but not as what the manager "Corey" explained. 20% of your "Original" bill before comps and coupons is appreciated by those who work hard to serve you and try to give you a good experience. I wish I could leave this place a negative review. Every time my husband and I come here, we have a bad experience. We kept coming back because we thought it was just a bad time, but we will not be back after today. The last time we came here, the kitchen didn’t cook our food and we were there for almost 2 hours. That was Christmas time. Couple months later, to now - my pasta seemed like it had been sitting for a while because the sauce was too thick and stuck to the noodles rather than being creamy as it normally is, and was room temp rather than hot. I get that this is just a Chili’s, but my husband and I used to come here frequently without complaints. We are not hard to impress either, as we both have years of restaurant experience and understand things happen. But it’s a consistent issue. They seem to be understaffed and either poor management or poor kitchen staff. Our server kind of had an attitude and didn’t even tell us her name, then had all of this extra food on our bill that took almost 10 minutes to get taken off the bill. Evaluate yourselves as a health, food and customer service industry and do better. I will say one positive thing, my mother and I came here and had the older male server and he was very nice. Other than that, this place has really gone downhill in the past year and represents Chili’s as a chain...

I did not like the idea that I had to scan the barcode in order to pull up a menu so that I can order. Not that I can't do it I just don't want to I want to look at a menu I want to hold a menu in my hand. However that seemed to cause a conflict. I was told they don't have enough menus to go around I don't get that covid has nothing to do with no menus. The menu is a lot smaller than I remember as well. I have been to Chili's many times and have loved it. This time not so great customer service. Then when I was ready to order the lady said hold on a minute I have to clean this table off I think I am a current customer I am more important than that dirty table. they actually had a table in the very back that all the workers stood around talking and hanging out maybe just maybe if you did less talking you would have had the tables cleaned off and you could have taken my order. Now I ordered my food and I was told that I needed to reorder the cheesecake halfway through my meal. I understand you want to bring the cheesecake after I eat but that should not be my job to reorder the waiter or waitress should take care of that for me. Nevertheless the food was okay everything else was not okay. I am so tired of hearing covid causes all this. As far as Chili's in Ellenton Florida I can't say that I'm going to go...
