Newby's Too — Restaurant in Florida

I noticed the bar had tajin. It wasn’t terribly busy when I was here so I asked the bartender what drinks they normally make with it. He didn’t give me a clear answer and told me he could do pretty much anything. I followed it up by asking him if they carried margarita mix to which he told me yes prompting me to order a single well tequila drink with margarita mix and a tajin rim. I was disappointed when he brought the drink back to notice that only about 30% of the rim had any hint of tajin in it. I tasted the drink to find it tasted like Minute Maid lemonade, a splash of sprite, and a squeezed lemon and lime, with a hint of tequila. The drink was so weak and tasted so much like a lemonade that I had to go to a different bar and order an additional tequila shot for the drink. It would’ve been no problem if they don’t carry any sort of margarita mix, which is why I asked. I would’ve much rather had a totally different drink in that case, though.

I've been a regular for years however, the previous two weeks my opinion of the newbys franchise has gone sour. I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth when I brought an issue to the attention of the manger on Fri 8/2/24 and was told she would take care of it and would not allow DJ Ian speak to me like that anymore. She also stated that no one would make me leave even though DJ Ian told me to "get the F out of his bar." And "Get the F out" because he was called out for how he was treating multiple women. When I came into your establishment last night, I was not expecting to be told "do not cause a scene again". I don't understand how bringing the attention of what is going on to the manager as starting a scene. It seems to me like the newbys establishment wants to protect bad employees and run off all of the regular...

I went here on a night when it wasn't very busy but, the bartender who was working was absolutely amazing. He was tentative to anyone's needs even when it picked up a little bit. And I really wish I could remember their names but, at the time I could remember but now I can't. There was a gentleman that had a guitar and the bartender asked him to sing. This young man had an amazing voice, a wonderful attitude, a true gift of song. I was delighted and entertained and felt very welcome there. I love places where it doesn't have to be full of people to have a good time.
