Specialty coffee. If you know exactly what it is and prefer it when drinking coffee, then when in St Augustine, Relámpago is your place.
A small-medium sized space with limited indoor but more generous outdoor seating, Relámpago achieves the essence of specialty coffee. They have a few food offerings (muffins, strata, etc,) but really, go for the coffee. Their pour-over options are varied and always excellent as is also their regular blend "quick cup; " served from a carafe, this is no "been setting around for an hour" product, it is fresh, hot and of excellent quality and flavor.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with the coffees on offer here. The caveat: If there's a line, be prepared to wait; it can take a bit until you place your order and a bit more until you get it. But then, patience IS a virtue after all!
If you're reading this and don't have a clue about what 'specialty coffee' is, then go down to Relámpago when in St Augustine, and have a cup. Maybe the first real cup of coffee you'll have. After that, check out local (not big name chains), coffee houses in...

It seems the staff was not bothered by his presence, which I do understand if he is a regular asking for water. But for a new customer like me, I found it unpleasant since it showed zero awareness of...
Read moreWe stopped into this cute little coffee shop to get a warm drink on a pleasant, chilly day. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte and my boyfriend got hot cocoa. The latte tasted really good and hit the spot. It wasn't overly sweet either which I enjoyed. It was a little grainy when I got towards the end of the drink, but I still liked it. My boyfriend enjoyed his hot cocoa also.
The shop itself is small, but it's cute and feels welcoming. They had a lot of coffee options and also do pour ins with different types of coffees which sounded interesting. They had some yummy looking sweets and small bites in a case also. I found it to be a nice, local...
