Mayday Ice Cream Historic St. Augustine — Restaurant in Saint Augustine

I recently visited MAYDAY Ice Cream and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Despite the enticing array of ice cream flavors, the quality of the product did not live up to expectations.

First and foremost, the prices at MAYDAY Ice Cream are quite high. Given the cost, I anticipated a premium ice cream experience, but this was not the case. The waffle cone I tried was particularly unsatisfactory—bland and lacking in flavor, it did nothing to complement the ice cream.

Speaking of the ice cream, while the selection of flavors is indeed extensive, the taste left much to be desired. Every flavor I sampled was overwhelmingly sweet, masking any nuanced tastes that might have been there. It felt like I was eating a scoop of sugar rather than a well-crafted dessert.

In summary, despite the variety of flavors, the overall experience at MAYDAY Ice Cream was underwhelming. Overpriced with underwhelming taste and lackluster cones, I cannot recommend this place. Save your money and find a different ice cream store that offers better...

Smelled horrendous to me when we walked in on 07/21/22 @ 9:30pm. Staff were extremely kind, but seemed a bit out of sorts at times and chatted to much with their friends in line.

There were 3 dairy-free (“vegan”) options: pistachio and almond butter chocolate and then a 21+ fruity flavor.

Ordered the almond butter chocolate ice cream. Wasn’t too sweet, which was good. However, it missed the mark. Flavor was watery to me and the almond wasn’t pleasant to my taste buds.

The pricing is so weird for the ice cream scoops….. $5+ for “one scoop”. $7.25 for “2 scoops”. $9.25 for “6 mini-sized scoops” which the cashier told me was actually LESS ice cream than the 2-scoop option!! If that’s true, then they are ripping you OFF! If it’s not, educate your employees on up to date company policies better because they are warding off customers with inaccurate information.

Absolute fantastic ice cream! The quality was top-notch — rich flavors, creamy texture, and a great variety to choose from. What made the experience even better was the amazing staff, especially one outstanding employee who was incredibly friendly and attentive she was there on the 22.04. She greeted me with a big smile and took the time to explain some of their most popular flavors. Not only was she extremely friendly and welcoming, but she also knew so much about the ingredients and even offered a free sample of a new flavor she recommended.
