I was not greeted warmly. “Dining in or placing an order for take out,” was yelled to me upon entering. The counter was full of paper bags for what appeared to be an overwhelming number of takeout orders. The crew looked stressed and kinda new to this whole thing. (I have many years of restaurant experience.) Since I was dining solo, I took the only smaller table in the dining room. Unfortunately, this was positioned directly in front of the door so I was bombarded with hot air from outside over and over. I ordered the Rueben. I waited an extremely long time. I did not tine it, but I’m guessing it was over 20 minutes. No apology or explanation was given. Later, the party next to me complained about the long wait and was immediately offered free milkshakes. The server turned around to me and offered to sell me a milkshake as if I didn’t hear her. Now maybe she would not have charged, but she didn’t offer it for free. The sandwich looked gross. The cheese was clearly of low quality and just turned into oil upon melting. The ingredients were chopped very finely on the grill and with no visible melted cheese on top, it was unappetizing. When biting into it, the flow of hot oil was disgusting. Not sure if they just used too much oil or if it was the cheap cheese, but there was a serious pool left behind in the basket that carried it. The server did ask if I was doing okay but did not ask me how the food was, so I kept my mouth shut (until this review). The only reason I came is that the sushi place next door closes between 3 and 4:30. So, I was going for a more “boujhy” experience and I would ordinarily avoid this type of place because of the usual low standard of food quality and service. It delivered on those two expectations, sadly. I did like how the place is decorated. Beautiful, modern farmhouse vibe. My recommendations would be to hire a manager with a decade or more of restaurant experience to train the staff and fix the problems. You have to apologize to guests when something is wrong before they complain. Ease up on the oil and buy better cheese. The place definitely has potential and with as much business as they’re doing, increasing their value in the ways I’ve mentioned would create tons of loyalty and repeat...
Read moreWe stopped here for lunch for the first time while visiting the adjacent Ellenton Outlets. When we walked in, there was a sign that said to seat yourselves. However, a waitress came over and was immediately helpful with getting us seated, grabbing a high chair for our baby, and answering any questions we had. We were surprised to see many others dining in and eating, since it was late for lunch. The place was busy with both those eating in and those ordering to go. We decided to try a couple of different hoagies, and upgraded to their homemade fries too. We tried their special spicy hoagie as well as their original cheesesteak. After ordering, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. We ordered the 8”, and that was plenty for each of us. They were flavorful and the meat was delicious. The fries were good too. Everything tasted fresh. As mentioned previously, the service was great throughout our meal. The prices were a bit higher than expected, especially when factoring in the $2 up charge for fries, but we still enjoyed our meal. Overall, we would recommend this place for a delicious...
Read moreFirst time ordering here, and when I walked in, I was expecting more of a take out business. I was pleasantly surprised to see many patrons dining in; the place was busy with both those eating in and those ordering to go.
The service was friendly, but we waited a bit for our food. There weren't many people in the kitchen preparing food, so it took a bit. I would probably order next time and pick it up instead of waiting.
We tried the southwest egg rolls that were fantastic. Very flavorful! I ordered the garlic bomber, and it was that. Very, very garlicky. I ate half the sandwich and then had to stop... it was a little too much for me, but it definitely was what I ordered. I'd get an original next time personally for me.
All the food was hot and I really liked the bread. Prices were more than I expected.... three sandwiches and egg rolls for $50. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Beer and wine...
