April 2025 - Noticed that they have changed the new menu. Cut short the long menu and add new item for vegetarian lovers!
My fav one always edamame and crispy devil egg. We tried some new items like :
firecrackers shrimp: i like the crispy crackers but the shrimp is the way too sweet. Not like it's name as thought it will be spicy. 2/5
Springs pea hummus with potato chips: very new on menu. We ordered from the happy hour "hh" menu to try. The size's good with $3. Very good pea hummus goes well with the super crunchy garlic parmesan potato chips. 5/5
crispy devil egg: battered fried half egg with seasoned york and topped with crunchy bacon. The portion size is 4 half egg for $6 from the "hh" menu. 4.5/5
Edamame beans: nothing more today. Light seasoned boiled edamame. Good with beer
Chicken lettuce wrap : this time was not so good. Lack of peanuts and crispy noodle topping. Sauce also too much sweet. But I love the lettuce - very fresh. 3/5
Grilled Trout: Soft fish fillets with grilled veggies. Taste good. My opinion they can give more veggies instead of a lot of potato wedges. 4/5
Chicken Spaghetti with mariana sauce: sauce in pasta's sweet. Taste 's just ok. Not so impressed. 3/5
Ginger Soy Salmon : I am not fan of ginger but has to say this dish's delicious. No complain. 4.5/5
Something about their happy hour. Honestly I'm still confusing with their hh time posted. Anyway we come always after 9pm in the hh time. So i'm not sure exactly about hh time. Check with restaurant your own to confirm . Drink menu for beers is great. Food menu is at affordable priced good taste items. Keep in mind it's at small price so the portion is smaller than the actual one in main menu. But it's priced reasonably - a way to try something new in case you don't like.
tip: One thing is servers never bring or talk to you about their hh even they not gonna bring the hh menu to the table until you ask for it. So if you are new to Lazy Dog, make sure ask for it. I have came to this restaurant so many times enough to know .
Have to say Folsom Lazy Dog becomes our late night dine in spot . Always great food and customer service. Drinks and appetizers come very quick. Main course comes at the right time. There is another restaurant opens until midnight same Lazy dog however we prefer going here because of the friendly atmosphere, comfortable dining area together with good food and drink menu.
Plenty parking at its own parking lot. Otherwise you can park in Palladio Parking Garage and short walk to restaurant.
Must try: edamame ; bacon candy ; crispy egg ; bacon cheddar biscuit ; chicken lettuce wrap; pea hummus ; thai noodles ; Brussels sprouts.
Highly recommended if you travel to Folsom....
Read moreYeah this is my fault for going here in the first place. Second and last time coming as frequent Folsom business traveler. The first time was so so but it wasn’t bad enough to swear it off. This time it was. I ordered happy hour wings and a ginger soy salmon with no soy glaze. I wait a while and they bring it out. The bartender whom I order with said they put Teriyaki sauce on it. It was covered in it. Now if I said no soy glaze why would I want teriyaki. That’s number one. Number two where did teriyaki come from? Its not listed under the description of the menu item. Bartender story changes. Says first its teriyaki. Then its soy glaze but they call it teriyaki. All b/s. Basically they screwed up and should’ve just owned it. After a couple of consultations with someone who appeared to be higher rank than the bartender possibly a mgr, the bartender offers to have them remake it to which I decline and say I’ll just oay for the wings and leave. Now what should’ve happened is: (a) Not all the conversation. You messed up and you knew it immediately so you simply offer to make it right immediately. (b) The mgr who she conversed with should have come over and offered an apology. She ignored me. I was sitting at the bar where they both were working. (c) The bartender at minimum should’ve offered an apology. She didn’t. Rather she just passed the buck by blaming the error on the kitchen. (d) At a minimum when I said I’ll just pay for the wings and go, they should have offered to comp the wings ($9). If they really were good they would offer to comp a remade salmon order. Of course none of that happened. I thought about leaving no tip but I thought that would bring me down to their level so I left an 18% tip. Never going back. I’m sure because this is a strip mall suburb situation that tries to have a “cool” suburb bar/restaurant vibe they’ll continue to get business. Based on my experience however, they do...
Read moreWe had the absolute best time here. Our wait was a bit long. We went there on a Sunday around 5pm with 7 people and my toddler but other than that everything was really great.
1st. Our server SAM (Tall, glasses) was AMAZING. I wish we got to speak to the manager on our way out to commend him on his GREAT service to us because he TRULY went 'above and beyond'. SAM... i hope its not too late and you see this. Thank you SO much. He was so pleasant and easy to talk to. He was observant of all details such as close to empty drinks, napkins, etc. He really took good care of us and he made our time there just pleasant and care free as all good waiters should.
2nd. Food came out FAST. for a party of 8, wow we were all just chatting not for long our food slowly came out. There was no downtime or anything. Our party just was able to focus on each other and being engaged and not having to worry about the delay of anything.
3rd. Our food was GOOD. like..ok this was majority of all of our first time going to a Lazy Dog franchise and my in laws were all impressed. For example, my Sister in Law shared the 'carnitas' entree with me, and at first i was just like "oh this is just going to be some standard chilis type of dish" Nope. I was shamed and wrong. They had this chunk of carnitas still in 'solid' form? on this skillet, and you get to shred it yourself along with the small fatty parts with all the flavor and it was amazing. It was crunchy on the outside but also SO tender on the inside. Just wow. I totally underestimated it. Lastly the strawberry milk bread dessert? I forget the name, but it was the star of the show at the end. Everyone loved it. To the point one of us ordered another one to-go LOLOL.
Would i go here again? YES Would i request SAM to...
