We had our post Valentine date here and will definitely come back. We appreciate how all the servers are attentive and not intrusive. We ordered oysters (half a dozen and grilled), Char Grilled Swordfish, and tried their specials (Grilled Spanish Octopus & Cajun Steam Pot). We also had Coconut Sorbet to cap off our meal. We loved the whole vibe! Half a dozen Oyters - They were fresh and so far the best I had in Sacramento. Grilled Oysters - This is my new favorite! I love the subtle taste of the sauce and the crunchy toppings! I'm sure what it's made of, but it complimented the whole dish. Char Grilled Swordfish - Hubby ordered this, and it didn't disappoint. We loved the sauce and the char flavor from the fish. Will come back for more! Grilled Spanish Octopus - This was one of the specials, and the texture of the octopus was mushy. Not my favorite texture for an octopus, but the flavor from the pine nuts and lemon vinaigrette saved it. Cajun Steam Pot - This was also one of the specials, and it was salty for my taste. The seafood was perfectly cooked, and the butter on top made a lot of difference. Coconut Sorbet - We liked the subtle flavor of the coconut. It cleansed all the fish flavor lingering on our palate. We would love to try the other dishes on the menu on our next visit. 😊

We had a wonderful time at Scott's Seafood Roundhouse in Folsom, CA! Kristina, our waitress was knowledgeable, attentive and overall fantastic! We had not been to this location yet and choose it based on visits at other (and previous) locations and the desire to choose a nice place for a family celebration. The dining room was open yet intimate. They have a nice wine/beer list as well as several cocktails on the menu. We settled on some wine, a classic gin martini and a Fresh Mint Margarita Martini. All were fantastic and I would definitely recommend the Fresh Mint Margarita Martini! We sampled several appetizers including raw oysters, oysters Rockefeller, capresse salad and clam chowder. The raw oysters were great with the kumomoto oysters being our favorite! The clam chowder was potato-forward but nice overall. Our main courses were also all good! We had an array of dishes including a crab louis salad, macadamia nut Alaskan halibut, a salmon special, seafood papardelle, and a Nashville hot fish sandwich. All of these dishes were good in their own right. The restaurant is nice and modern and a good place for a quick bite or a celebratory meal. They do have an event room and some private spaces that can be used for corporate events or a small party. we will definitely be back again!

Best to have reservations and this Saturday night was very full and busy. We arrived 15 minutes early for our 5:30 reservation so had to wait in the well appointed lobby a bit but there are restrooms right there which was very convenient. The hostesses seemed a little bothered that we disturbed them. We were seated in a nice spot overlooking the ice skating rink but the tables are small and too close together. It just felt cramped and crowded with plates and menus and wine lists and more plates and not much room for our server to get in and out of the area. After the delicious and well prepared appetizers Oysters and Calamari I had the Sole and Hong had the Cioppino, both were very good and handsome portions went home with us. Our server was outstanding and very attentive. I had to knock off 1 star for service due to the hostesses somewhat surly unprofessional vibe and 1 star off atmosphere just because the overall volume was too loud for my taste and it felt overcrowded, more like a sports bar than a high end dinner. I think if I go again it will be on a less busy night as it did take almost an hour for our main entree's to arrive. But hey, it was Saturday night, so all in all I click on 5 stars.

Saturday, 2/18/2023 - Went to "Scott's Seafood Roundhouse" for brunch. Address is 824 Sutter St, Folsom, CA 95630. Located in a cute little area, clean, and beautiful. There was an event happening this day with lots of vendors selling all kinds of stuff. Pet friendly. We even got to meet Flintstone, someone's pet pig. S/he was so gentle. Parking is a bit hard to find though. But we got lucky and found 1 street spot open. 3 hr parking only. Yay us! Upon arrival:

Pros:

  1. restaurant looked so clean.
  2. ambiance was nice.
  3. there was a bar as soon as you walked in with several TVs.
  4. plenty of tables and chairs.
  5. our table, chairs, plates, bowls, utensils, napkins were all clean and nicely set up on the table.
  6. water tasted good. No metal or funky taste.
  7. they provided hot water.
  8. our waitress was Kayla, i believe. Sorry if I got the name wrong. But she's so sweet. Very professional. Very nice. Checked in on us several times. We got bread and butter. It was very good bread and butter. I could just eat the butter by itself. 😆
  9. I ordered the Three Egg Wild Mushroom Omlete. I really wanted an omlete. Instead, I got the Farmers Market Egg Benedict. They got my order wrong. Boy am I glad they got my order wrong. This Farmers Market Eggs Benedict was pretty good!
  10. Got to try the Dungeness Crab Cake Benedict. The was really good too.
  11. the raw oysters were good. Fresh. The poke bowl was good. It came with this awesome pepper they made in-house. Next time I'm asking for that pepper to eat on my eggs or meat! 😆 Their ginger was thinly sliced and perfect with the raw fish.
  12. they have a kids menu with a nice selection. Not just the typical burger, chicken tenders, fries, etc. Lol. I liked their kids menu.
  13. I believe the manager came out to get us. He was very nice and personable. When they brought the ice cream with candle out for our little ones' birthdays, he and our waitress sang Happy Birthday with us for them.
  14. The bathroom is right outside the restaurant across from the hostess check-in. Bathroon was very clean.

Cons:

  1. none!!!

Conclusion: This restaurant is awesome! So clean, staffs were so nice and professional, food delicious and nicely presented, water tasted great, and great location. I can't believe I've came to Folsom a few times before and do not know how I missed this restaurant. I'm so glad I went here today. I will definitely come back again and recommend this place. Try it, if you haven't yet! I had a...

Me and my husband have been eating at Scott's Folsom for the last 15 years. It has been always our favorite restaurant! We had anniversary dinner yesterday and I must admit, we were completely disappointed! We had fresh oysters, which were good since you can't really screw up oysters (but disappointed because there was no selection, only one type of oysters). Then we ordered Oysters Rockefeller, which are our favorites, but not this time! They wre absolutely horrible. The new chef completely changed the recepie and added bread crumbs to it. Tasted horrible, barely any spinach, no cheese! They should supposed to be creamy!!! For dinner my husband had wayagu steak which was burned and literally looked like a sliced tri tip which I grill on my backyard (and tastes way better), not to mention that mashed potatoes were completely blend and asparagus was undercooked. I had Swordfish schnitzel which was also burned and served on the parsnips and spinach puree which was swimming in cream and tasted like nothing. Service was also horrible! Our server Elizabeth seemed like she doesn't know what she was doing and where was she at. My husband ordered a glass of wine, and she came back after few minutes and said that they don't have it on the menu anymore! Seriously? How didn't you know that you guys don't sell this wine at the moment my husband placed an order. Then she dropped chop sticks on our table and left? What? Should I suppose to use them to eat oysters? She didn't make any recommendations as far as food, wine, never really checked with us, and took forever to place an order! Anyways, we spend $315 for dinner plus $70 tip (we are both in the business so we are always pretty generous) for the meal and experience which was definitely not worth it and completely disappointing! It's been great 15 years Scott's! We definitely won't be back! Why change the awsome menu which worked well for so long, to serve...

Mother and have always loved Scott’s in Folsom but will never return after the relocation to sutter street. It was her 44th birthday. My treat. Reservations were for 6:30. We arrived at 6:30, but waited alone in the lobby. When 2 girls and a man (the Manager) approached the kiosk we asked about our reservations and were completely ignored by these bantering underage girls. No class. Scrolling on their phones and talking about highschool drama while we wait to checked in. Finally the manager repeats to the 2 girls about our reservation where we were ignored AGAIN. They then finally looked up long after the manager had left to deal with something else. and all was said was “Tiffany, 6:30? Please take a seat. Should only be a moment” The manager had come back and seen our frustration We took our seat and the manager came up to us to give a little sweet talk as it was clear he was aware of the incompetence of the staff and felt bad. We’re not sat until 7:10. My mother did not receive her wine until 7:30. An hour after our reservation. Food was brought out a half hour after our undercooked calamari appetizer which left me feel queasy despite calamari being my favorite dish. Waitress was professional and sweet but lacked experience. Did not know her crowds very well and would often only prioritize big tables. This a services management based issue. Lack of professionalism and even accountability. Unfortunately will not be returning as we didn’t receive any accommodation for absolutely horrible experience. Go to sutter street steakhouse! Amazing service and atmosphere and your wine is a...
