Several years ago, my quadriplegic sister and I went to have dinner at Lubys in Forest Hill, Texas. Upon getting to our table, the food was room temperature at best. We requested that we have some warm or hot food at least. They went back and microwaved it, stating that they were having trouble with their food warmers on the line. I owned and managed our family restaurant and had to go to food manager classes and learn about the safe temperature range of foods. When we got our food back, it was over microwaved. The macaroni was like rubber. We could not eat over a forth of it. I wrote to the corporate office and complained about it. I received back a dinner pass for two. However, as my sister's health de clined, we were able to get out less, and had to stay closer to where we lived (Burleson). She passed in January of this year. In going through things, I found the guest pass card and found out upon calling for the balance that the card was no longer valid. When I made an email inquiry, I was told that these cards "deactivate themselves" after a year. However, on the back of the card, it states that the card becomes deactivated after ONE YEAR of activation. This card was never activated. Luby's claims that the card cannot be reissued. I was even honest enough to say that my sister had passed and they would only need to send a pass for one (myself) but they still refused me. This card COULD have been re-issued and I feel that by doing so, it would not have caused this Luby's, much less the entire company to go down on its knees in bankruptcy because of having reissued one for me only. I guess word of mouth is no longer significant to people nowadays. I hope that even if ONE of you all decide not to go to this Luby's, it will be worth it to me to have them lose your business because these are the kind of people who run Luby's, including the corporate office in Houston.. I saw that the manager of this store has responded to other complaints, "We will hand this over to our care team." Well this did not do any good on my two attempts. I just hope you think twice about going to this one and if you go, their food warmers are working, otherwise you will spend money on cold food or over-microwaved food and you will not see your money back and if you do, by way of a card, you better get your derriere back before it DEACTIVATES ITSELF. BTW, I have cards from Olive Garden and Spring Creek that are years old and still are active with balances so I know that what I was told by corporate office was a LIE. One last thing, hopefully you will not eat food that is room temperature because it was not kept in the "safe zone of temperature." If you do eat it and get sick, you will know who was responsible and why. Thanks...
Read moreI purchased three meals two whole fish and one chicken combos. I asked for a two oz tater sauce instead of the small less than teaspoon portions they have already set aside. Instead of taking a few seconds to go to the back and fill the 2 oz container up the small, hispanic, evil and hateful manager open up the small container and squeezed them into the 2 oz container which was very unsanitary. She then stated that she refused my service and told the girl at the register to give me my money back which she did and then the small, hispanic and evil manager told me to "SHUT UP" and you can imagine where it went from there. She then threatened to CALL THE POLICE OVER TARTAR SAUCE. Instead of giving me what I wanted to pay EXTRA FOR they gave me back my $28.65 plus $2.70 for extra tartar sauce. The two sides of broccoli and cheese cost $4 (so it would have made more sense to allow me to purchase $2.50 tartar sauce) and the chicken and two whole fish I gave back were put right back into the lineup. So sad to have to go through all of that for tartar sauce. Oh I almost forgot, the black man who was the other manager NEVER LOOKED UP DURING THE ENTIRE SITUATION instead he was managing his books for the day. I wish I could give a 0 rating but there are no options for this on the review. Nevertheless, this...
Read moreWell first of all since I’ve been going to Lubys on Forest Hill for months and months and months when I went today to go eat during the lunch hour I’ve noticed some people that were serving food as you stand in line. I am not a racist. I don’t have anything against Black people or persons for that matter all I wanna do is to make it known that some of persons or persons that are serving you online have long hair or dreadlocked what do you want? Call it now. The problem is that it is against health regulations not to wear it. If you’re serving food now there was a few person with long hair dreadlocks streaming on the side and when you’re dealing with food and people waiting in the line so you can serve them I was looking at a couple of Manago OK why does Lubys not enforce hearing it because what I understand is not good. It’s against health regulations room again. That’s my opinion. I will take it to the next level to see if I can get the managers or somebody or call the health department and make a report because this is not good for me or for anybody else they have to see that I think it’ll be best that everybody that works behind the line serving food with long hair or dreadlocks or whatever you might wanna call it I think that you wear a hairnet so some of that hair does not fall and people’s...
