We went there with our son and the hostess said 15 minute wait and asked for his phone number. We started noticing people who registered after us being seated. We were standing right near the hostess but my son walked over to ask why we hadnāt been seated because across from us we had watching a family called up to be seated and we saw they registered way after us. Well, the hostess said to us that we had to register first. We told her we had and why would we be standing right near her station and she kept glancing at us every time she walked by and when we arrived she had watched us walk to the spot we were standing at which was right near her hostess location. She looked on her computer and asked for my sonās name and after he told her she said well I texted you more than 15 minutes ago and you didnāt come by me. By then a manager came behind her and heard my son say he never got a text as he looked at his phone yet again since he had already been checking it every few minutes as it was. My son said that after we checked in with her she watched us walk to a spot near where she was working and never left that spot. The manager then said āDo you want a seat or not in a quite hostile manor. It appeared quite rude and what struck me was the excuses āwe are busyā āYou didnāt come when I textedā. āWell do you want a table or not?ā Iāve never been in a bar/restaurant where I was treated so rudely and at my age I have been to many. We used to always go there when visiting my son & family and we even bought gift cards at Coopersmithās for them as gifts. I donāt know what happened to this place but none of us will go back. They just made excuses and were extremely rude. What would have made things right was none of the excuses and the fact that they tried to turn it around that it was our fault. A good business doesnāt do that. Maybe someone should educate them that what would have worked was a simple apology. That was something we never received. A suggestion: if the hostess takes a phone number maybe she should read the number back to the customer to make sure she entered it correctly. Donāt blame the customer if you type in the wrong number on the...

We were traveling through Fort Collins with our pups and were excited to see a review that stated Coopersmith was dog friendly, we had been wanting to try it. To be fair, I was not able to find anything on their website that said they were dog friendly.
Once we were able to actually request a table (more on that below) we were told that they would seat us on the patio but our dogs would have to be on the other side of the fence. This would put my dogs on the busy, old town square side. If anything would have startled my dogs, there would have been a fence between us. I would expect a dog friendly establishment to allow my dogs to lay comfortably at my feet. Because of this we chose not to stay.
In regards to being able to request a table....we were there early, before the posted Saturday, 11:00 opening on the website. About 10:40 we saw a waiter opening patio umbrellas, just to be sure, we asked if they opened at 11 and we were told they actually opened at 11:30. We thought about it and decided to walk around the square and wait. In the mean time, my husband decided to call to see if their hours had changed from what was posted on the website, the recording stated they opened at 11 on Saturdays.
We saw a different server in the second patio area, and asked her when they opened, she also said they opened at 11:30. Thinking things hadn't been updated on the phone or website, we chose to wait until 11:30. On our walk around the square, we passed by at 11:10 and customers were seated in the patio...guess they DID open at 11:00. That's when my husband went in to request a table and we were told our dogs would need to sit on the other side of the fence...we left.
If your policy is to not allow dogs to sit in the patio area with their owners, PLEASE post this on your website. Also, please make sure your staff know when the establishment is opening for the day. It was a very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOnly getting two stars because the food tasted good. Came here last night and sat outside on the back patio which was nice because where was a lot going on outside to entertain. Our waiter came and took drink orders and finally we ordered once we decided.
I ordered just the pretzel as I had eaten earlier, and my friend ordered a bison burger. The food came out very fast and we were surprised! But⦠mine was a sandwich and not a pretzel. I didnāt say anything because I have social anxiety, but also it was loud and I figured maybe the waiter misheard me. He came back after like 10 min (at that point I just started eating instead of waiting for him) he came back and told us he messed up and gave us the table next to usās order. That table had been there well before us so they were probably pretty mad too.
Hereās where it gets bad though. He didnāt offer to get me my original food. Also, he still let them bring out OUR food to that table. Like, he noticed the mistake before they got their food but still gave them a pretzel and burger and not what they ordered. BUT THEN, we got our bill snd the waiter was pretty rude and short with us. He was friendly at first. He acted like weāre the ones who messed up. AND to make it even worse , HE CHARGED US FOR THE SANDWICH THAT I DIDNT EVEN ORDER! So instead of my $8 pretzel I had to pay for a $14 sandwich that I didnāt order.
He did nothing to like repair the issue. Didnāt offer half off or anything. Or didnāt charge us the price for the food we actually wanted. Charged us for the food another table ordered. Iām not looking for free food but itās the principle. Iām just so shocked this happened. In a time where the restaurant business is struggling, youād think people would try their best to earn tips and such. Iām so frustrated and really wouldnāt have been mad had he at least not made it seem like it...
