I was already not terribly pleased that I got outvoted by my coworkers and we ordered our lunch from here again. The last two times we have ordered from here were not ideal either. The first time I ordered a standard philly which ran through me like FloJo and left me bent over and overall smelly. The second time I decided to order something different for fear of the havoc wrecked on my lower intestine. I got the Italian Pork which was good, but I am sure it would have been better hot. Mind you I understand that my work place is far enough away I do not put that on taste of philly. However, when you partner with grubhub and doordash and contract their drivers out when you order directly from the website. They are now a part of your brand and name. I specifically avoid ordering through doordash and grubhub when we can, they mark up prices on the food and charge extra delivery fees and I would rather pay the hired drivers of a company and continue to support the company than a third party. My coworker took my concerns to heart and ordered directly from your website. When the order arrived, it was missing 2 of the 8 sandwiches. We called to let them know about the mistake. They then had to call doordash, which led to a he said she said battle and a final thought of the sandwiches should be there in 20 minutes. 25 minutes later my lunch is still at the restaurant, they say doordash hasn't sent a driver yet. What third party driver wants to pick up an order 7 miles out for no tip because its a restaurant mistake? No one, no wonder my food is still there. So 2 hours later, we received a partial refund to the company card, and still no lunch. Since this was a "reward" lunch and was planned, I did not bring my own food to work. So now my company has been refunded for this mistake, however I am still hungry and stuck at a desk with no food. In summary, if you are not going to utilize your own drivers, don't make online ordering directly through the restaurant available for anything other than pick up and do yourselves a favor and double check orders before they leave...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just moved here from Philly, the cheese steak capital of the world. I've got to say, before trying A Taste of Philly, I had NEVER had a decent cheese steak outside of the Philadelphia metropolitan area or the surrounding burbs. These guys know what they're doing! Even the bread is on point. They aren't shy with the steak either, they really pile it on!
The "Original Philly" comes with sauteed onions and melted American cheese unless otherwise specified. I like to think of this as a "suburb steak" because that's how they do 'em up in the area I grew up in, the burbs just south of the city. For something like what you might find at the more famous south Philly area joints, (like Pat's, Geno's, Jim's or Tony Luke's) simply substitute Cheeze Whiz. Though steaks with Whiz can be tasty and are beloved by many Philadelphians, bear in mind that Cheese Whiz isn't a real cheese at all... it's "a processed cheese sauce or spread from Kraft Foods, developed by a team of food scientists". I'll switch it up now and then because they are indeed tasty, but I'd suggest starting with one made with real American or Provolone cheese.
They offer various other types of steaks and chicken steaks with an assortment of toppings as well. Im also a big fan of their cheese fries. They're very good fries smothered in Whiz and they're quite delicious.
Ordering from this place is a real treat that offers a much needed taste of home. Take it from me, these guys...
