I wanted to give 4 stars, as the food (Tonkotsu Ramen and Chicken Pad Thai) was decent for Fort Lauderdale standards as I expect and the waitress/front cashier girl was nice. (I’m from Toronto, Asian food here is not comparable). However, at check out, I was charged extra for the chashu in the ramen. Then I noticed sneakiness in the menu pricing, normally, tonkotsu ramen includes a chashu (pork belly), you don’t charge customers for basic protein. For them, it was an extra 3$ to add chashu, written in a way such that, in the image of the ramen, it looked like the chashu was included by default, but at the final bill, they charge you $3 extra if you order chashu. I was not happy about this, as a result I did not give tip, (and in general, I am extremely opposed on a philosophical level of North America’s ‘obligatory’ tipping culture, so I rarely tip for philosophical reasons.) Then when I went to pay, the cashier/waitress girl reminded me that the bill does not include automatic tip and that suggested tip was on the bottom, to which I calmly replied “I know, I won’t be tipping this time. And in general, we don’t have a culture of tipping”. She went on to say that “well you know, if you eat in a restaurant, you are expected to tip”. Yes, I’m well aware of the “cultural expectation”. She went on and told me, unhappily that if I don’t plan to tip I should order take out next time. I smiled and said sure. Now, whether you like it or not, tipping is optional, and I am an AH. And no, when your minimum wage + tip

We weren’t planning on sitting in at a restaurant to eat today, but the second we walked in to Lucky Cat, we were suddenly like ‘Yes, we are sitting down’. We ordered the tonkatsu ramen, miso ramen, chicken teriyaki bento box, Thai donuts, mango sticky rice and two milk teas. All of them were excellent and flavorful in their own ways! The ramen was delicious, tender chicken and noodles, bold broth. My husband has never tried a bento box before and enjoyed his teriyaki chicken bento box with white rice, veggie mix and spring roll. I ate his California roll sushi option and we took the rest home! Then we decided to order dessert and the Thai donuts were fantastic. Crispy, fluffy, hot and fresh donuts served with a sweet dip. The mango with sticky rice has a subtle but unique taste that was devoured by our table. The milk teas were wonderful, my husband and I shared the Oreo milk tea with boba and it is like a blast of Oreo, chocolate sauce and coffee, topped off with the boba pearls. Better than something Starbucks would make in my opinion. I tried our friend’s Thai milk tea and it was also lovely, a flavor I’ve never tasted before but enjoyed. The drink looked like a sunset! 10/10, would come here again! Such a hidden gem with anime comics on the tables and Japanese decor everywhere, a nice open and modern feeling with great food and vibes. Our waitress was sweet and I’m sorry we didn’t catch her name for this review! Also, they have sushi making classes here!...
Read moreFirst off, I just got into my car. I placed an order to go for tonkatsu ramen. I also ordered the brown sugar boba tea and the mango green tea! The level of customer service is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Right at the door, before I even set foot inside, a gentleman greeted me, gave me a menu, and opened the door for me. I was then greeted by the super sweet cashier!
Second, the view of this place is PHENOMENAL. I physically felt the urge to stop, look around, and then take a few snaps and pictures for all of my instagram and Facebook followers. There's amazing art all over the walls. The screens with ads for the boba are cute and chic. All of the tables are hand decorated with manga pages!! THAT IS SO COOL!
It's very modern but not uptight. This reminds me of the boba shop and japanese/ pan asian restaurants back in Georgia!
The cashier was really nice and helpful with the menu. She made my boba drinks perfectly!
The gentleman from before who welcomed me went to the liberty of helping bring my food and tea to the car because my hands were so full.
I haven't even eaten my food yet but I'm sure with this much care and attention to detail in the customer's service experience - the food will blow me away.

The food was soooo good. I loved the ramen broth, I loved the homemade chashu, the mushrooms, bamboo, and bean sprouts were fresh. The soft boiled egg was perfection. The tonkotsu ramen tasted light and yet rich in flavor. I'm...
