If you’ve never visited CoCo Shrimp, let me paint you a picture: a glorious shrimp-filled oasis tucked inside what I can only describe as a cozy, tropical treasure chest. The CoCo Shrimp van parked outside is like the beacon of hope for all who seek culinary adventure—it’s as if it’s saying, “Follow me, ye hungry wanderers, for within lies the bounty of the sea!”
Once inside, the vibe is chill, welcoming, and just quirky enough to make you feel like you’ve stumbled into a secret hideout. The interior feels like a cross between a beach shack and a map to buried treasure—minus the sand, but full of flavor gold.
Now, let’s talk about the shrimp: OH. MY. GULF. Perfectly cooked, seasoned, and sauced to perfection, it’s like they marinate each piece in the tears of angels. The real treasure, however, is in the ginger and poppyseed dressing. Friends, I’m not ashamed to admit I considered ordering it by the gallon. Actually, scratch that—give me a bucket of each. I’m ready to be that person with a straw in their salad dressing.
CoCo Shrimp isn’t just a meal; it’s an experience. So, hop in your car, follow the van, and prepare to be part of the legend. Just don’t forget to bring your appetite… and maybe a second bucket for the ride home. Five stars and a...
Read moreWas taken to this humble Hawaiian shrimp shack and I was blown away by a hurricane of flavor! It was a Wednesday evening and the place was full of people who already knew that this was the place to go for dinner today!
I had a sampler plate with several different types of shrimp on a bed of seasoned rice and a salad. Let me just say that the salad was my only low point only in that there must be a low point in every review to get a baseline. The salad was alright. Not amazing at first but later I accidentally mixed my grilled pineapple addon in and it totally transformed into a really good salad.
The rice was phenomenal and I was filled up from the meal with about 1/4 of the rice left. I told myself I wasn't gonna eat any more . . . And I ended up breaking down and finishing it off.
Lastly is the shrimp itself. Cooked to perfection with grilled shrimp and fried shrimp on the sampler. The flavors really invoked a fun time at the beach although that could have been the dozens of surfboards on every wall and ceiling! I really wanted to order more just to take to work for lunch the next day but a fresh influx of people craving this Hawaiian delight made to decide to leave to make room for the new diners.
Try this place. It is absolutely...
Read moreI love this place's food and vibe all around. The music and atmosphere gives you mahalo vibes and makes me miss all my island friends. (Shout out to all my 9th island homies).
I got the sampler to try the different shrimp. I chose the 3 non breaded ones. So spicy, lemon herb, and butter garlic. It comes with rice and salad (I got no rice). Salad dressing is a choice of poppy seed and ginger. Ginger was excellent!
2nd photo was another sampler with spicy, sweet and spicy, and garlic butter.
I loved the spicy shrimp the most and they have a nice kick. Second was lemon but I tend to love lemon things. The garlic butter was great and reminds me of shrimp scampi.
Regular drink choices. They make really good iced tea and they also have a lemonade and strawberry lemonade that are super tasty. I personally recommend making your own Arnold Palmer.
Staff was nice and super helpful in explaining what things were. Very clean and well maintained. A+ I will definitely...
