I should have read the reviews. We paid the $3 admission to enter Billy Bob's to get to the Honky Tonk Kitchen. I thought it would be neat to eat there. They do offer free admission to military and veterans, which is nice. We went at 3pm. There was music playing, and an empty dance floor. The place was dead, dead... Why one star? When we got to the counter to order, there was a long discussion between the staff on what was available and whether they were switching to a limited menu right then. They decided they had BBQ plates available. The kids ordered burgers and we ordered a 3 meat plate w sides of Baked potatoes and beans. You won't believe this next part: A staff member delivers our food, and we asked for forks and knives. "We don't have any forks." no explanation. My husband asked her if she was joking. She wasn't. She just reiterated that they didn't have any and made no attempt to problem solve. There was NO way to eat chopped Beef, a bowl of beans and a Baked potato without utensils. I got up and went to talk to the lady that took my order and the chef that had his face in the window. I said they should've let us know that they didn't have any (plastic)forks before I ordered my $20 plate of BBQ (that came in a DQ basket with an over baked old potato.) She said she had gone to the back to look, but they didn't have any. Seems like a thing you would ALWAYS have on hand? Meat, Buns, Beans, Forks...definitely should add that to the grocery list.... While in this discussion I spotted a small container like you see on buffets holding a few metal forks and steak knives. They reluctantly gave me 2 forks. The BBQ was good, beans were good standard beans. Save your money, it is overpriced and the afternoon entry fee and the rude service people put it over the top for the worst decision we made...
Read moreWhere do I begin. Service was nice enough at first cordial and speedy. Food came out and the burgers were dried out but only enough tasty. I would give the goat cheese burger 4 out of 5 stars if the meat wasn't dryer than a a middle school patty. Then the issues of the rib plate. Cold ribs. Not chilled but ice cold. Brought it up to the counter said the food was cold. My wife took 2 bites of it. When I brought it up she took them fast enough said they would fix it. I must have waited about ten minutes for then. At this point im thinking I'm gonna get a nice fresh couple pieces. Nope. Waited ten minutes for them to essentially throw them in the microwave. I dont know much about cooking barbecue but last I checked it was a point of pride. Why would you microwave them and give me back the same pieces. He'll I could have gone home and done that. Just doesn't make sense. Overall blah. Definitely not worth the over 60 dollars we paid for 3 meals. I will say his is essentially the carnival. You pay to come see some outdated and honestly bland notes of nostalgia. Will make sure to never come back as I can't imagine a worst way to spend my money. Honestly just not worth it at all especially with the stockyards right there. Much better food and no...
Read moreHighly recommend the pork and green beans, some of the best I've had in a while. The sweet potato fries were lazy and bland.
Had to pay extra for sliced vs chopped brisket, but only 2 of 4 pieces were worth eating. The flavor and tenderness were excellent but I can't help but feel we got skimped on.
1 strip of catfish also rather conservative for $13. Limited beer selection, bottles only and pricey for...
