terrible place to work. started working there and after three days they told me i wasn’t a good fit and that they didn’t want to “babysit” me when i wasn’t properly trained… all i got properly trained on was the smoothie making. i didn’t get trained on register but they told me to look at it and i did with them, but theres not much you can learn staring at a screen and not being in action and i couldn’t get much action when there was construction going on preventing us from being busy. i decided after getting fired i would apply for unemployment and they decided to try to make me look bad, saying that i would get flustered when it would get busy (it got busy ONCE those three days and no one told me what i needed to do so ofc i didn’t know what to do and NO i did not in the moment go to the bathroom, even though thats what she told the lady, i wait until it’s not busy to go to the bathroom). she told the person with unemployment i would hide in the bathroom to the point they would have to ask me to get out which ONLY happened right after i got fired and hid in the bathroom to cry and call my mom because i didn’t know what to do… which she was calling me out of the bathroom to give me my last pay, not to do my job bc well, she fired me.. and that was seriously the only time i “hid” in the bathroom. i did not space out when getting trained. gretchen was extremely rude to me the whole time i worked and when i got fired she told me none of this in which she decided to tell the unemployment lady though… wonder why that was? maybe bc it wasn’t true. also, this place isn’t lgbt friendly, they try to make it seem that way, and some people are, but gretchen didn’t even try with my pronouns and in the system she put my preferred name in parentheses and put my birth name there on display for anyone to see. i had some coworkers who were going to stick up for me for that, never knew if they did but the gesture was sweet and i hope they’re doing okay. i did my best with what i was given, 3 days and i didn’t even get to finish my 3rd. i also was replacing someone who worked there for 5+ years so it makes sense they held me to a standard.. but keep in mind i haven’t worked in a place like this before, i never got properly trained, and i never got verbal warnings. i was going to keep my peace until she broke it with lying to the people with unemployment. when she fired me she told me that “i’m sorry, you’re a good person, i love you, i just can’t babysit you” i told her that i wasn’t properly trained and she tried being empathetic saying “i know” and frowning, but she didn’t know. she didn’t give me a chance. that isn’t everything that was said to me from her, but thats some of it and i’m just...
Read moreTitle: Beware – Dismissive Manager and Expired Products
I recently had a terrible experience at Juice Junkies due to a careless and dismissive manager. I noticed the celery juice I was purchasing had a “sell by” date of today, and when I raised my concern, the manager assured me it was safe for up to three days after. Trusting her word, I drank it—despite it tasting a little off—and unfortunately, I became sick shortly after.
When I called the store to inform them, I expected some level of concern or empathy, but instead, the manager was argumentative and dismissive. She claimed that she drank two juices that day and was fine, and an employee drank one yesterday without any issues—completely invalidating my experience. Rather than acknowledging my concern or offering any form of resolution, she brushed me off with a casual “cool” and hung up.
If you value your health and expect decent customer service, beware of this location. Selling expired products is bad enough—but gaslighting customers and refusing to take responsibility is even worse.
I won’t be returning, and I’d advise others to think twice before trusting their products—or their management.
UPDATE TO MANAGEMENT RESPONSE: I drink celery juice every day and have never experienced digestive discomfort—until consuming yours, which was clearly spoiled and had an off taste. Your manager refused to address the issue, choosing instead to argue and dismiss my concerns. Your response only reinforces the pattern of gaslighting. It’s concerning to think about what might go on behind closed doors at this establishment. The juice was expired, yet you refused to take responsibility both before and after I consumed it. Rather than acknowledging the issue, you continue to ignore...
Read moreDrove through Fort Worth from Dallas on the way out of town, so I decided to pick up breakfast here since it was one of the only places open at 9 AM. The employee thought it was important enough to answer a phone call while I waited but when I walked in, she turned her back and said nothing until I mentioned I was picking up my order. She was very cold towards me and not pleasant to be around - not one inkling she actually wanted to be there. My breakfast sandwich had a very dry, overcooked or stale, disproportionate sausage and super tough bread. The cheese was almost nonexistent. You’d think sauce or jam would be offered or come with it. I thought I would at least get a great juice out of the visit, but mine tasted expired or like it was missing its main ingredient. After all these experiences I had low expectations for the açaí bowl but it was actually good - just wished she’d cut the strawberries a bit more so they’re bite size pieces. Overall, don’t recommend and definitely won’t be back. Felt like a huge waste of money for the...
