Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!

On Friday, 12-13-2024, at 4:30pm my wife and I ate at Rodeo Goat this afternoon and got the worst service we have ever received at any restaurant! We ordered dine in and also some take out to go.

Dine in we ordered 2 burgers, cheese tater tots, and 2 frozen drinks. We also ordered a cup of chili and really enjoyed it! We ordered 3 cups of chili to go. Before ordering 3 cups of chili, I asked our waitress if there was a larger size we could pay for because we really enjoyed the chili. She said the biggest was a cup, but they could place the toppings on the side and the chili would be topped off so that we could enjoy a decent portion at home. We thanked the waitress!

When we got our to go order the 3 cups were not topped off as described by the waitress. The 3 cups were 1/2 filled. When the waitress came back we asked if we could get what we were promised. We opened up the 3 cups to show her they were half filled. We even showed her how one cup topped off the other 2 cups leaving the 3rd cup completely empty. We were charged 3 cups when we actually got 2 cups.

The waitress went to the back and General manager Bryan came to our table holding a cup of murky water and asked us if we wanted a refill of chili. We were confused and said no we wanted what we were promised by the waitress. GM Bryan proceeded to give us a lesson on ladle spoon size/portion and how food prices are going up. Wow! We have never in out 50 years of life been given a lesson by a General Manager on ladle size nor brought dirty water in a cup.

This was professionalism and customer service at its worst. It was very demeaning and dehumanizing. My wife and I are African American and Hispanic. I don’t know why anyone especially the head/leader of an establishment would spend so much time and effort to give 2 customers a lesson on ladle size and do a show and tell with a cup filled with dirty water. All over a cup of chili! I advised General Manager Bryan before his “lesson” and “show and tell” that we asked the waitress before we ordered on the portion and just wanted what we were promised. He didn’t actively listen to what we said and Gm Bryan continued his “lesson” with a negative tone and attitude! Again all over a cup of chili!

GM Bryan left to go to the kitchen and came back with a cup of chili and blurted out “here is a cup of ladle chili.”

We paid our $90 bill and left. We felt worse than...

I was so excited to try this place but man was I let down. I had a chaka oaxaca burger, fiancé had a birria burger, and we split an order of their "steaming pile". The burgers were decent, a little dry for my taste but still good value I felt. The goat cheese on the steaming pile was a little out of place in my opinion too, I think I'd prefer it without. Overall pleased and would have wanted to try more from the menu, we were really looking forward to trying some desserts too! But God. The service? Miserable. At first seemed promising, got greeted, got our drinks, but we needed a second to look at the menu since it was our first time, and I guess the server interpreted a second as 10 minutes. Finally got our order in and then another 10 minutes later had our food. Server checked back on us promptly though to make sure the food was alright, to which we responded it was and that we were likely going to need some dessert soon. Then we didn't get any acknowledgement from him for 25-30 minutes as he just went behind the bar to make shakes and other drinks for others I guess? Multiple times we'd lock eyes and get no acknowledgement from him, but seeing him busy we'd assume we just should wait for him to finish and that he'd be right over, only for him to move to something else and keep forgetting about us until I finally just asked for the ticket and decided we had been there long enough and didn't need to wait further for a dessert and a chance at being forgotten again then too.

And to be clear, I've been the manager of hotel bars, I've been a server or bartender at more places than I can count, even at other similar burger joints. Everywhere has standards about how often a server should touch back at their table. To go 25-30 minutes (specifically it was at roughly 2:35-240pm we were checked on, 2:45 when we finished our food and set it all aside, and then 3:05pm when I stood up to ask for the ticket), to make eye contact and signal 4+ times with no response, the food could have been a 10/10 and the experience would have still been ruined. And then to hover over you while you use their handheld card readers and input the tip with zero acknowledgement of the fact he didn't say a word to you in that nearly 30 minutes? My history with the service industry dictated I still leave a good tip, but it was not at all deserved. Super disappointed in the end. If we come back it definitely will not be for...

We have always enjoyed the food. We came today thinking of the loaded fries. Off hour on saturday. Win! Its 250pm.

Food did not disappoint but could also receive the same quality from Five Guys.

Hostess had zero personality. With menu in hand asked if we wanted inside or out? That was the extinct of the "greeting". No smile, no welcome.

We sat outside, Logan showed up 3 min later. Holy cow it's warm outside, we want A beverage please. Ordered water,a margarita And the loaded fries.

Finally, 5 minutes I get my marg....NO WATER.

Such a frustrating experience. During our wait we notice the 2 tables that needed busing are still unclean and another couple leaves. So 3 tables of "left overs" waiting for bus staff.

The fries come out (brought by someone other than Logan) tastey BUT the burger (we ordered when the drinks came out) were delivered in 1 minute from the dang fries! Come on LOGAN! The place isn't busy, where is your customer care? And appetizer should be ENJOYED ahead of the main course. Seriously. I know it's a burger joint but dang. Come on, SERVE

Another server brought my water. AFTER I requested it!

So, food was good. Server Logan must have preoccupied. And WTH were the bus staff doing . The 3 tables needing to be bussed...He came out 4 times over the hour we were there TO CLEAN THOSE 3 TABLES 1st a few glasses, then some plates, then finally the other glasses. Over an hours time.

Created a frustrating, nOT relaxing afternoon. When the intent was to chill on the outside patio with a beverage and good food. We passed on a 2nd beverage due to...

After a long walk at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, we need to rest and eat something that will fill us up but won't make us too tired for the rest of the day. Just a short walk from the garden, I had written in my travel notes about a place that specializes in hamburgers. We drive to it and take advantage of the large private parking area available to customers. After a few minutes we are already seated with menu in hand. The list of burgers is so tempting that I can't decide what to choose. I ask the waitress for help and decide to order the "Whiskey Burger" (whiskey-infused cheddar, candied bacon, blackberry sauce, lettuce, whole-grain mustard) with a side of "Texas Caviar" and an "IPA" beer to go with it. My wife usually orders a salad and adds chicken to her Caesar salad. The burger is delicious. I cook it according to my own preferences, and the salty and sweet flavors make it very tasty (I could eat a pound of caramelized bacon!!!). The Texas Caviar has the perfect amount of acidity to help cleanse the palate. That's perfect! My wife's Avocado Cesar was hearty and rich with well-cooked chicken and its sauce that tied all the ingredients together (my wife couldn't finish it, and I had to finish it). The service deserves a special mention. The girl who was very nice, smiling, and helpful gave us great advice. The account is completely fine.

I actually thought their burger was amazing. It was filled with flavor and it was fresh. I enjoyed their vegan burger and their chorizo flavored patty it was excellent and their patties are grounded fine making them smoother to digest. They have A very smooth burger. It was a big burger filled with flavor and variety but was not sloppy which I loved. The fries are good and they give you enough to actually share with someone else. Also the container they use to serve your fries in keeps them warm for an extended amount of time. The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because I was overlooked 10 minutes when I wanted to pay for my check. The servers and the manager both completely ignored me. But other than that I enjoyed the burger and I will definitely come back when I’m in the area again. Also they serve home made pickles and chips which were delicious and they serve their drinks with paper straws and not plastic... FYI...the atmosphere was crowded , fast pace and a bit noisy. The crowd consisted of various ages. This place is exactly the place to chill with friends it’s not too intimate for a date inside but they have indoor/ outdoor seating so I would probably go outside for a more intimate setting. Overall I believe they have the best burger I’ve tasted in this town so far...

My husband and I are Rodeo Goat regulars. Personally they have the best burgers ever!! If you’ve never been we definitely recommend trying them. Go a bit earlier and it’s seat yourself. Personally outside is our favorite- dog friendly- they have heaters when it’s cold and fans with misters when it’s hot. Tonight was one of the best we’ve had. Everything was perfect and delicious. We like to each order a burger and cut them in half so that we each get two different halves. We also split an order of fries. Tonight we went with our usual (our favorites) ranch house and bad hombre. If you don’t know what to try get the ranch house. It is the most flavorful burger I’ve ever had. It’s hard not having a ranch house and we typically order it along with a battle burger or the bad hombre. If you’re looking for a good drink their draft changes which is really nice to try something new. My favorite drink is a moontang which is frozen drink of moonshine and tang. Staff are always nice and helpful. With the somewhat recent changing of the streets all street parking is pay to park. If you’re lucky you can find a spot in the Rodeo Goat parking lot. If you’d rather not pay and don’t mind walking a block there is a free lot immediately south of Rodeo Goat on Lancaster.
