Lupe Tortilla Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Fort Worth

Just to be very clear my wife & I have been fans of Lupe Tortilla for 15 + years. Before I married, this was my family's favorite Mexican food place anywhere. To be precise I've been going to this place for years! Originally from Houston, Texas our favorite location was Lupe Tortilla in Webster, Texas. Relocated to Fort Worth and unfortunately this location on 9409 N. Freeway in Fort Worth is extremely disappointing and pathetic. Management at this location is unreal how horrible they execute customer service.

Walked in a couple of Saturdays ago, we registered in, we were told they had immediate seats in the outer patio area, told my wife let's just wait to sit inside as it was a bit muggy and hot. We were told it would be around 30 mins to have an opening for our table, we were cool with that. After waiting around 15 mins the manager of this location approaches us states the following " we have a table for you guys of which we can go ahead seat you guys, however at about 6pm we do have a reservation, it was about 5:10pm at this point, I told my wife in other words we only have 50 mins to eat and jam out. I said NO, lets just continue to wait as we wanted to eat our meal with calm and enjoy the evening. I was not interested in taking the offer for the table and eat in a rush.

They proceeded anyhow to seat us, I kid you not, we ordered our drinks appetizer ( large Chile con queso) which I totally love, we then order our food. So far everything seemed OK. After a few moments we noticed a large group starting to enter the restaurant. Considering we had waited our turn waiting the 30 mins as quoted I was under the impression we were good. Mind you we were only a party of (2), my wife & I. This is were I totally lost and became livid shortly after our food arrived to our table, the manager and her assistant began to gawk and stare within our direction as to indicate that we needed to rush and move on out. One of them would pull her cell phone and would tap on the phone as to imply time was up. I got ANGRY I told our waiter listen boss" I don't have a problem with your service you have been excellent, but is this table reserved or taken? I told him your managers keep staring our direction and it's ticking me off, you don't go to a restaurant and spend a good portion to be rushed and pushed out! I told him I will never come back to this place and support Lupe Tortilla. He told me I DO NOT BLAME you sir. He states " If I was you I'd do the same". I did approach the manager and stated how lousy the service was and if they continue with that behavior I don't see a very successfully future for LT. I am going to report this to corporate and hopefully somebody will grab the bull by the horns and correct this lousy service before it's too late.

Unfortunately this is probably one of the worst managed establishments I've ever been too. Its too bad because the food is super, however after many experiences here resulting in less than desirable service outcomes, I'm done. I will not be going back and will not recommend this place to anyone

I'll tell you what_ This is by far "THE BEST" Tex-Mex Mexican Restaurant I've Ever eaten. Bar None ! It's a New restaurant come to our area. Family operated_ started in Houston Tx, then San Antonio, Austin, Irving, now North Fort Worth, TX. New location planned soon for Southlake,Tx.

The plate the wife and I had was a Large Enough plate_ that 1 plate filled us both up stuffed. It I believe was $16. The price is Very Much Worth It. Restaurant Rated as $$ _ Not $$$$$. I don't remember the plates name_ But it had 1 beef enchilada 1 cheese enchilada 1 Tamale, All cover in a special chile sause & cheese. Hard taco_ we subbed for soft taco. Rice & beans & guacamole salad. Your served chips, salsa, and beans_ while your waiting for your order. We ordered FLAN as a dessert . Its a jello-ie medium bodied desert. Not heavy like most_ covered in glaced Carmel sause _ decorated with strawberry & blackberries. EVERYTHING IS MOST EXCELLANT !

Oh_ I forgot to say, The manager gave the wife and I a sample of the Beef Fajitas ... OMG ! Unbelievable! It is unlike any other Fajitas you've ever eaten. The meat is a very special select grade_Moist, tender, juicy_ marinated overnight with dpecial seasonings & a touch of Lime Juice_which gives it a Special Twist or Kick to it_ just setting all the flavors off _ OUTSTANDING ! I don't usually like Fajitas _ there usually on the drier side with a heavy grilled flavor. I will be back for the Fajitas next visit. Guarenteed. These are special_ very tasty. Mmmm Good !

The ONLY this I complaint to the manager was_ Now I have to give up all the other Mexican restaurant's. One to please me_ another to please the wife. We both Agree for once_ this is The Best ! Bo more arguing which one we visit. Which is a very good thing. But I found a new home_ Lupes is now my Go-To restaurant.

You'll notice the words TEX-MEX on front of building_ left side. You probably will not notice the name of the restaurant on the right side_ it blends in with building background. Manager told me that there are several LUPES restaurants in the area. So dont get this LUPES confused with the others. I'm very confident you won't find a better mexican restaurant. Period. No need to try else where. This is THE BEST. This restaurant is located on the west side of I-35 North Frwy on the service road. New construction of businesses being built along that tract.

I'll give this place a 5☆ Rating. It's an Up-Scale Restaurant. Very clean, great atmosphere, great service (Eager to please), friendly_ the list goes on. I can't say enough about this place. Rate it a D-. Should of gone somewhere else. Went with daughter (8 yrs old). Arrived at 815 pm. Sat down quick for a Saturday night dinner. 820 pm. Waitress, 3rd day there. She said she had a fire to put out at another table. She took a drink order and left. She took our order with the table next to us. Ordered the queso. I had better at the Ranger baseball game. I think its the same cheese. See other people pics. Not 7.99 worthy. table next to us got food, (ordered at same time...we didn't. ) Waitress bring more chips and drink. Other table is done with their meal. Other table gets another round of drinks. Finally a manager comes over and explains they loss the ticket in the kitchen. Our order was the last one on the printer before the paper runs out and there isn't a way to retrieve it. Its now 945p with a 8 yr old who hasn't ate and a bedtime being pushed back. Food come out 10 min later. Its cold. How...? Manager comp the meal. Waitress brings a check for the drinks. Really? Almost 2 hours. I called the manager back. A different lady manager comes over and asked what my problem was. I explained and she says. Did you have a sweet tea and sprite.. Well yeah but I waited on food. She took the ticket and crumbled it in her pocket walking away. Rudely ! Really!! We boxed the food. Daughter ate food on way home. She said the food wasn't worth the wait. I am now home. She is in bed at 1045pm. I haven't even ate dinner yet. Ruined daddy daughter date night. Table next to us. Their food was wrong. They didn't complain. There are so many other places in town. Skip this one. Food is C grade. The outside of building and atmosphere was fantastic. Should of been a way different experience. Daughter says.. That place could be so much better. Its now 1100 pm and I am finally eating. Food was compd. Terrible experience.
