I have been eating at the famous Schlotzsky's since 1987 when I went to college in Austin, but they have been around since the 70's. I have never had an issue with the restaurant; I had always been a fan of their sandwiches and I get the same thing every time. Unfortunately the location on eastchase is extremely terrible. I live in Fort Worth and sometimes on my lunch break I will go to get a sandwich, but today will be my last day giving my money to this location. I have seen so many managers come and go this year alone. I can tell that the young adults who work there are drained and overworked for what they are paid. I recently found out that they pay their workers less than $12 an hour which is TERRIBLE in this economy. How can anyone live on that wage? I thought they just had a habit of being lazy, but I judged too quickly. After speaking to an employee who work there, they told me they enjoyed their job, but the pay caused major issues in their life. I see a new face every time I go. The had a new staff last week, and today completely new faces again. And I'm almost sure next week will have new faces. It seems as if they cannot keep employees because of the terrible pay. Today I went in and it seemed so militant and dull, I think they had a district manager in today or something because everyone was new and the employees looked afraid and uncomfortable. I am so sorry to the employees who have to suffer. I apologize for judging the workers so quickly, but after everything I saw today I WILL NEVER return to this location. I watched a girl struggle with boxes today, she barely could lift the loads by herself. I saw a young man limping as if he was in pain. And yesterday I saw a team leader so drained that it almost looked as if she was going to pass out behind the counter. I do not know what's going on but I support and stand behind all of the workers. And I hope the company will pay their workers more, meet their needs, and accommodate them. There is triple digit weather this summer in Texas, which means a variety of things, including health risks. Please keep your employees cool because some of them look hot...
Read moreThe only reason I have rated this 2 stars is because of one particular cashiier. When my husband and I walked in, there was a sweet girl cleaning the dining area while taking orders and helping to prepare food in the back while working to make everyone's experience as great as possible. I believe her name was Eve or Eva, I am not sure exactly although she had really short hair and I believe it was read or strawberry blonde. Anyways, We walked in an they were screaming at this cashier to go back in forth while in the middle of taking our orders. There was a terrible woman who I believe had some sort of management position (she had fake red hair and was wearing a bright green shirt that sort of made her look like a giant green apple) who was so rude to not only the employees but to paying customers. She did not smile even one time and yelled at the sweet cashier girl to get her 4 cinnabons and said she needs to finish them before she took the rest of our order. The cashier took our order while the cinnabons were heating up and was extremely polite while we knew that she most likely was holding back tears. After our order was taken we sat and waited for a good 30-40 minutes before our cold, wrong order came to us and we then ate half and threw it in the trash. Things are so unorganized and the employees in the back are absolutely incapable of doing their jobs correctly. I have never been into a restaurant where almost all of the employees look miserable and every customer is close to losing it all for a crappy,...
Read moreThis was the first time my sister and I had ever been to Schlotzsky’s, and I don’t know if it’s the location or the business, but when my sister ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad she thought it came with two breadsticks cause that’s what the menu says. Even on the receipt it says “GARLIC BREAD” underneath the salad. We received the salad and when we asked about the breadsticks we were told “we don’t have any more.” I understand shortages are everywhere, but it would help to put that on the menu if it is true or mention it at all before or during the ordering process. I got a side salad and asked to replace my Caesar dressing with ranch. Our server was happy to do so, but came back and told us that my sister had gotten “the last” ranch dressing cup. This is possible, but I’ve also worked at a fast food place that prepares these little cups of sauce or dressing; there is usually a bigger bottle somewhere. I would have been happy to wait for them to fill and prepare another cup of ranch (if applicable) and my sister would have been happy to wait for breadsticks to cook. We did not express our concerns past what we were told, so there is a possibility the location would be willing to fix it, I just got the impression that the kitchen staff was a bit lousy (from my slightly burned calzone and the raucous laughter in the back) and I had already addressed them several times. I was kinda disappointed cause the calzone wasn’t bad even with burned edges, though my sister said the salad was...
