Sunpies Bistro in Steamboat Springs is a hidden gem that truly captures the essence of laid-back dining with a vibrant twist. From the moment you walk in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for an unforgettable experience. The eclectic decor, complete with quirky memorabilia and charming local touches, instantly makes you feel at home. The menu at Sunpies is a delightful mix of comfort food and innovative dishes, each prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Their Cajun-inspired offerings are a standout, particularly the shrimp po' boy, which is a harmonious blend of perfectly seasoned shrimp, crispy bread, and zesty remoulade. The gumbo is another must-try, boasting rich flavors that transport you straight to New Orleans with every spoonful. What truly sets Sunpies apart, though, is the exceptional service. The staff is not only friendly and attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, always ready to offer great recommendations. Their passion for the food and genuine care for the customers shine through in every interaction. Pair your meal with one of their signature cocktails or a local craft beer from their well-curated selection, and you have the perfect recipe for a relaxing evening. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch spot or a cozy dinner destination, Sunpies Bistro delivers on all fronts, making it a must-visit when in Steamboat Springs. Don't miss out on this culinary treasure!

Waited a bit as they don't open till noon. As the woman was opening the gate she rudely announced no dogs were allowed. We had one local person recommend it, tried to check their website for confirmation, but not accessible, and a quick Google search indicated it was in fact dog friendly. When we asked if she had a recommendation for a dog friendly place in town she pointed to the pub across the street and in a snarky tone stated most places in town do not allow dogs. Overall very unfriendly, unhelpful and rude. When we walked past later there was a nice chalkboard out front stating "no dogs" in large print. Would have been helpful to have something posted prior to opening. Then we wouldn't have had to interact with the ride person

This was the best find! Georgie behind the bar is the greatest and mixes awesome hurricanes. This little "locals" bar has a fabulous view of the Yampa River with lots of outside seating right along the river edge. Very laid back, chill establishment with excellent food as well. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was fabulous with shaved beef and just the right amount of seasoning. We also had a muffalata that was cooked perfectly with thin sliced ham. The daily special was Mahi fish tacos that were also excellent. Definitely recommend for afternoon lunch outside along the river!!

If you find yourself in Steamboat Springs and wander into Sunpies Bistro, do yourself a favor and locate the bartender Sam. preferably before he spots you first. Sam has the speed of a caffeinated hummingbird and the sarcasm of a man who’s got everything to lose.

Then there's Jon Dean, I ordered a drink and before I could even finish pronouncing the second syllable, Jon had it mixed, garnished, and was already chirping the guy next to me for ordering water on the rocks, no salt.

At one point I asked what they recommended and they just squinted at me as if evaluating my soul’s credit score, then handed me something delicious and strong enough to make me briefly forget my middle name. Five stars.

Sunpies itself is great, but let’s be clear the bartenders are the show. The drinks are good, the vibe is chill, and Sam tells stories so long you'll forget where you came from. But oddly enough remember where you're going.

Overall: 10/10 they do not accept Marriott...

Ordered 7 hurricanes for my friends and I. The bartender gave us 6 and told me abruptly that she gave he 7 and turned away. I reproached her and asked if I could have my last drink. She told me again she gave me 7 and I had my friends all raise their drinks so she could count them off. THEN she tells me again she made 7 and turns away to make another customer a drink. I wait for her to finish and ask her once more for my 7th (already paid for) drink. I have my friends raise their glasses to count again and she tells me someone must have walked away with my 7th, as if that was my fault. She then looks down and sees her own mistake. She prepared a 7th cup and did not make it. I complain to her that this was a ridiculous way to approach a simple mistake and she yells “YOU GOT YOUR DRINK STOP COMPLAINING”. Wish I knew her name so hold her...
