Last evening, I decided to try out the local buzz at Mexican Fiesta, a place known for its vibrant atmosphere and a promising menu. The experience was a roller coaster of sorts, with some ups and downs along the way.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Steak Burrito. With chilli Relleno .The steak was cooked well, and the peppers added a nice kick that tantalized the taste buds. (I did' not know why they add sour cream. ). Accompanying the burrito was a Chili Relleno, which was a ok blend of flavors, though it didn’t quite hit the high note I was not expecting.
Service at Mexican Fiesta was competent, if not memorable. The staff was polite and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met without being intrusive. However, the pacing of the meal felt a bit off, with longer waits than anticipated.
The pricing, on the other hand, did give me pause. While I understand that quality ingredients come at a cost, the final bill seemed a tad steep for the overall experience provided.
In conclusion, Carlos 'Mexican grill offers a decent dining experience with a few standout dishes. However, the value proposition might not align with everyone’s expectations. It’s a place I might visit again when feeling indulgent, but it’s not yet on my list of...
Read moreI've been going to Carlos Mexican Grill since 2019, when I started working in Fox Lake. I really love the food there, but yesterday I called at noon to order lunch for me and my boss. I'm a regular, and I always get two plain steak tacos and two chorizo/two steak tacos with onion and cilantro. I forgot to order an extra chorizo taco, so I asked the lady on the phone to read my order back because I knew I messed up. I get it, my bad, but she totally went off on me, saying, "No, you said one chorizo taco, that's it, you didn't say two," and all that. I had to cancel my order. It's super annoying because I go there for lunch all the time, and I'm a good customer who always pays cash. But I'm not going back to Carlos anymore. I hate being disrespected, even though the food is the best. It's my favorite Mexican food in Fox Lake, but I'd rather give my money to a place that appreciates me. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I'm just bummed about how the lady on the phone handled it. Don't let my bad experience stop you from eating there. The food is good, trust me, but I won't be ordering from...
Read more5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped in Carlos Mexican Grill in fox lake today to grab a late lunch on my way back home. Fox Lake across from Thortons in the strip mall. Service was outstanding! I’ve heard complaints at other locations, not Fox Lake. Very helpful and patient. Restaurant was very clean. The empty tables were all ready for customers to come in to eat.
Decent amount of parking for the strip mall.
Menu is laid out nicely. Good variety. Prices are competitive depending on what you get. I didn’t notice anything extremely expensive or inexpensive. I think maybe their fajitas are priced lower than other restaurants in the area. I usually prefer to stay to eat fajitas so maybe next time.
Food was not only delicious BUT FILLING! Omgshhhh… I ate half and had to take a nap to sleep 💤 off my full tummy! Not complaining because the other half was dinner. — eating lunch at Carlos Mexican Grill...
