A Five-Star Gem for Friends: The Southern Tea Room at Fork of the South
Charming Atmosphere & Friendly Service
Walking into The Southern Tea Room at Fork of the South feels like stepping into a cozy Southern home. The atmosphere is utterly charming â from the quaint decor to the warm, inviting ambiance, every detail makes you want to settle in and stay a while. Itâs truly the perfect place to go with friends, as my group felt comfortable chatting and laughing for hours. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive, with staff who made us feel like old friends visiting for afternoon tea. We were welcomed with genuine smiles, and our server went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience.
Homemade Pimento Cheese & Chicken Salad â Absolutely Delicious
While everything on the menu was delightful, the homemade pimento cheese and chicken salad absolutely stole the show. These savory treats tasted fresh and bursting with flavor â you could tell they were made with love and Southern know-how. The pimento cheese was creamy, tangy, and downright addictive, and the chicken salad was perfectly seasoned and hearty. We were all raving that they were so good, we wished they sold them by the pint! I would happily take home a big container of each to share (or maybe not share!) with my family. Itâs rare to find flavors this authentic and delicious, so these dishes alone make the visit worthwhile.

Between the delightful setting, the top-notch hospitality, and those unforgettable homemade goodies, we couldnât have asked for a better outing with friends.    Read moreI was really excited to take my mom to this tea room & was hoping it would be a nice experience. The cost being $50 I expected it to be very nice.
The tea cup was super cute, & my tea was good; however, the food was sub par. The presentation was nice but the food didnât seem special nor unique. The sandwiches were on white bread with store bought chicken salad & pimento cheese. The pastries were dry & tasted synthetic.
Not sure where they get their food from, but VERY disappointing to be in the heart of Franklin, TN & the food tasted like they went to Kroger deli/bakery.
I was hoping for homemade goods or locally sourced items. It would have been fine if they only charged me $25 then I would be fine, but spending over $50 for this was GRAVELY disappointing.
I hope this review is taken as constructive criticism as I donât think this business will last unless they step it up, lower prices or offer additional options such as tea & a pastry etc... I didnât like that I could only go for the $50 & no other options.
The server was young & sweet, but didnât know how to interact with us very well. Furthermore, I had to look for our server to pay, as we waited over 20 minutes for her. Very disappointed & a waste of my money.
I should have checked the reviews before I booked my reservation. You...
Read moreWe had tea here with my daughter and close friends on 12/18. The room is beautiful and I loved the pick your own tea cup as you walk in. That is a really special touch. I felt the service was lacking. The staff was kind and courteous but it was almost like they were not expecting us when we arrived for our 12:30 reservation. I was a little taken back by the staffâs attire too. In my opinion they were not dressed appropriately for tea service. The sign on the door said walkins were welcome for $48 but I was charged $50 and made a reservation so that was confusing. It also said no need to tip and everything was included but at checkout the system asked for a tip. Also a bit confusing. The food was subpar and some dessert items were meting on the plate before consumption. Everything seemed purchased from a big box store. Our plate was short quiche when our tiered plate was brought out but no one ever came out with any. It took almost 10 minutes to receive my tea after everyone else at the table had theirs. No timer or communication on how long the tea should steep. We had to ask for milk and sugar, which I think should already be on the table or brought out with the tea. I really want this place to do well but unfortunately they have...
