Gwenie's Pastries — Restaurant in Frederick

So happy Gwenie’s finally opened here in Frederick and there’s no need to drive all the way to Rockville. Pastries are so delicious! I am obsessed with their spanish bread and ube cheese pandesal. The two staples I will not walk out without. The baked siopao and ube mamon was also really delicious!

The display for the pastries is very underwhelming though. Especially since I think many people in this area aren’t very familiar with Filipino desserts. Having a lot more pandesal and other breads out (in bulk) would probably be better on the eyes when you come. Also maybe provide some samples for the breads. It’s so delicious that I think it would sell a lot more if people just try it cause it WILL sell (and the will absolutely love it)! Especially the Spanish bread. Just a thought!

Got the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich today and I cannot emphasize enough how perfect it was. When I opened the bag I was greeted by the scent of fresh baked brioche bread stuffed to the brim with fluffy eggs, melted cheese and crispy bacon. The presentation alone was enough to give me pause before diving in, the sandwich was massive and they do not skimp on the ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the spicy aioli after a few bites as well that really took it to the next level. This is my new standard for all breakfast sandwiches and I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu and pastries as well. My only regret was not seeing the option to add avocado and tomatoes until after I ordered. 11/10 ate it too fast to...

I found this place by accident, but was not disappointed. We tried the Ube, mango, and Nutella donuts. They were fresh and had a wonderful light, chewy texture. We enjoyed the Ube and mango donuts best by far - the Nutella donut was a little heavy for our taste. The strawberry and cream dessert was also fabulous. I look forward to going back and trying something different! Everything was fresh and the staff was very helpful. In fact, when I was taking one of the donuts out, I accidentally dropped it on my tray and smooshed the cream on top. Since I wanted to give the donuts as a gift to my mom, I asked if they could fix it up, and they were more than happy to put another squirt on top to make it look...
