Take 3 x Grumpy Burger Lady's — Restaurant in Fresno

There are good days and there are bad days. Today must have not been such a good day. I had try to call to place an order and was placed on hold. I figured I can just go in to place an order. As I walked in, there were only a couple people ahead of me and a few folks sitting inside. I placed my order and waited nearly 20 minutes for a burger. I could understand if they had a line out the door, but didnt seem like it was that busy in there. Soon, a few others had come in to place their orders as well. I got my burger and left to finishe the rest of my lunch hour. Burger was ok. Could have gotten a better sear on the burgers and a better toast on the buns but it felt mediocre. The buns still felt cold and dense. You can mitigate that with proper toasting but, I can't blame the cook. He was the only person working during a "lunch rush." You could tell he was frustrated having to work the cash registers and cook the burgers and sides. Having to stop and take incoming orders then going back to the grill and fry station to cook, and keep this pattern every time a customer came into place an order. I feel like he cared about what he was doing but it was hard for him to keep up the quality without keeping the customer waiting. Maybe invest in payment kiosk that takes orders and sends the orders to the kitchen so the cook can just focus on cooking quality burgers and fries. I will not be...

My brother and I decided to give this place a try after walking past it awhile ago while it was still under construction. Forgot about it until ABC ran a story on them and knew we had to go.

Well we finally got around to it on Thursday the 29th and damn. The Grumpy Lady was the exact opposite, she was welcoming and joyous.

I ordered the Smushed Marylin Monroe without the pineapple. It wasn't just a smash burger where the pattie is pressed, the bun and cheese went were pressed down and smothered in their freshly made chili.

The patty was very nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. The chili had a consistency of sloppy Joe mix with chili seasoning, which fitted amazingly well on this compacted cheeseburger.

I will definitely be coming back and making sure I put that chili on...
