Bushi Bushi Dim Sum Place - Frisco TX — Restaurant in Frisco

Hopefully, it's reflected in my ratings that the service was great and everyone was very friendly but the food was pretty bad. As far as dim sum places go, this place is far below average. One thing I did really like was that you just ordered from a QR code - really quick and simple - similar to what I saw in dim sum places in Seattle

The skin on the shrimp dumplings wasn't quite cooked all the way through and instead of just shrimp like you'd normally find at any other Cantonese restaurant, it's was cut and adulterated with other ingredients. Shrimp and pork shu mai was decent, very mushroom forward taste (a good thing) but I didn't feel like it was heated all the way through either resulting in a solid hard lump. In fact, none of the steam trays (whatever they're called) weren't particularly hot to the touch when they were brought to the table. The chicken feet wasn't cooked long enough either so the cartridge and tendons were still a little tough and the bones didn't readily pull part in your mouth like it should. Flavor was decent through. Scallion pancakes were way over fried and saturated with oil, instead of layers in the middle it was essentially just one lump of dough. They forgot to bring our order of the pan fried radish cakes so I just asked them to remove it from our bill, likely would have been "on trend". Imo, I ordered the "basics" of dim sum dishes, if a restaurant can't get these right, everything is likely going to disappoint too.

6/23/25: Bushi Bushi

I went out with my mama friend today and stumbled upon this Asian center with so many Asian dessert shops and restaurants. We randomly picked this restaurant for lunch.

Steamed dumplings in garlic chili oil have a very starchy taste in the meat filling.

Soup dumplings skin was just too thick. Ginger was not served with the soup dumplings.

Note: Selections for dim sum items are very limited. It is not a place I would go for dim sum or recommend for dim sum.

My friend ordered the stir fry beef with broccoli lunch special. Broccoli is fresh and beef is very tender. This is something I would order for my two little foodies. The sauce is not salty, but lacks flavor for me. My friend enjoyed this dish.

I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. The sliced white chicken breast is surprisingly very tender. Kudos for that. I really like the sweet and tangy stir fry sauce, which kinda somewhat has a citrusy flavor. If I come back, I would order this again for me, but I know my kids would dislike anything with a citrusy tangy sauce and bell peppers.

Note: Steamed jasmine rice is cooked just right light and fluffy. The atmosphere is clean and the service is friendly. I did not have an internet connection and their WiFi didn't work so they let me order on their notepad instead.

Overall, if you come here, I recommend trying anything with chicken because it's very tender and I seldom find any restaurants that can make their white chicken breast...

I have been a customer to this place for over two years and I would always have to drive 50mins to an hour to come eat here. The service I got was very terrible and disrespectful. They stop sitting at 9pm and they close at 9:30pm. We got there at 8:50pm and ordered our food . At 9:34pm ,one of the servers starts vacuuming and scrapping chairs on the floor. I was uncomfortable with the sound the chairs were making, so I kindly asked if they could give us some time to finish our food before they start their closing duties . The other server walks up to the manager , and the manger walks up us and says “we are closed” and I say I understand that but at least let us finish our meals that we spent our money buying and we ordered at a time you were open. This is out rightly WRONG!!! I mean you are closed so I should get up and leave my food behind? What is going on here ? Is this now the new norm? We are closed, so please get out ? I would have appreciated a “ Hey , we are closed , we are not rushing you but we are about to start our closing duties ‘ but I got none of that .
