The selection and atmosphere are beautiful. We were very excited to go in, but we were not welcomed. Don't go in unless you know exactly what you want and don't want to look. She was rude when I said I wasn't completely sure what I wanted. I am a big wine person and enjoy a wide range of wines. I wanted to try something new. Not to mention, I was open to buying several bottles of varying types. They also had no German wine. Before you say "why didn't you say anything", I tried, but she was being so condescending that I couldn't get a word in edgwise. I was given the chance to taste a few, but then was given the wrong bottle upon purchase. My friends weren't even given the chance to try their wines and one friend wasn't even given more options when she asked for a pinot. I give it a two rather than a 1 because the guy was nice and tried to help. Upon entering, he seemed to be working in the air of defeat. I am happy to be trying a new wine, but am disappointed that I was treated poorly and overspent. The overspending was a known choice in the moment. It seems when I couldn't say exactly what I wanted, we were treated like we knew nothing about wine, which is extremely false. We are a well traveled group and well versed...
Read moreI went here on a haunted pub crawl and it was a bizarre experience. We were with a group of 30. I have worked as a bartender and waitress in the past, so I understand that it may take a moment to serve everyone. It took about 15 minutes to serve the entire group at the location before with one waitress. As soon as the waitress took our order I could tell that something was off. She was kind of wandering around, taking orders in a random order, looked spacy and tired, and had a lot of trouble focusing. She seemed like she was under the influence of something. She brought out 2 drinks about every 10-20 minutes. After literally 2 hours only about half the group received their drink (not an exaggeration). The owner also identified herself during the tour and I spoke with her when I told her to cancel my drink order. Both the waitress and owner seemed to have over-served themselves, which is a weird choice for a place that markets itself as a...
Read moreMet Jamie and Ted while there last year. Ted and my service dog got along great and Jamie said we should stop by and see the place. It was amazing. And the customers were great to laugh and talk with. Had 3 or 4 different drinks that were all tasty and caused me to buy more that I should (liked the prickly pear margarita?) And had fun talking with Jamie and they were great with my service animal, setting up water and a place for him to relax to. I'm a veteran and Jamie talked with me about the alcohol that is produced by a veteran owned company and took pride in knowing a lot more about her vendors and was great giving advice on drinks. Appreciate the amazing hospitality for my girlfriend, ares (my service animal) and myself. Jamie is a big part of the reason the girlfriend has planned a few trips already to galena and she will be down the beginning of Dec for a friend's birthday since she liked the scenery so much....
