Ok, so my plans was to do the Gypsy Joynt for dinner. Well, I started to web search and Mexican food pops up. So, I get distracted and start checking out the local Mexican restaurants and viewing reviews. I come across Henry's, (God bless them! )So, there reviews are Raven about how they are a little kept secret in Galveston ( and should stay a lil kept secret đĄ)OMGâźď¸I decided to give them a try and go all out and try a few dishes because of the great reviews. So my idea is, I will go to the resturant, and order there so for sure, for sure, my order will be FRESHâźď¸ Did not happen at ALL. Wow, I was so disappointed. I ordered fried fish and shrimp 7.95 + chips and salsa 2.50 + surprise burrito 3.75 + chicken tacos 7.50.I was so excited about my order and how I would be able to enjoy a lil of this and that at a great fare. Did not happen. I got back to my hotel set up everything and l get my mouth ready to get down with it. Did not happenâźď¸I open up the container to the fish and get to chewing and swallowing and EWE,EWE, UGH,YUCKYâźď¸ OMG,Wowâźď¸The fish dinner, what? Were in the world did they get that fish from? The shrimps, what shrimps? Sooo breaded it swallowed the shrimp if there was even any shrimp in there. The chicken fajitas taco, just was not fresh.Fish was old and stale french fries old and stale shrimp was hot but totally over breaded. I just had to stop eating the fish dinner nothing was tasting fresh are was good on that plate. The chicken taco I had to just try to eat the chicken without the flour tortillas with the beans and rice and EWE it just was not cutting it. It just was not fresh but-stale and old.. The only thing that was fresh was the chips that was hot and freshly fried when ordered . I am afraid to try the breakfast burrito after all those awful dishes.Henry 's ,Henry's, Henry's, remember you are serving the community when you short change your customers in anyway, you only short change yourself. Straighten up...
Read moreHenry's has become a family favorite for us. It's a tad divey but Henry's consistently offers low prices, good quality, great tasting food, and friendly service. The amazing breakfast burritos have us stopping here often. For about $4 you can get a surprise burrito (bacon, egg, potato, cheese, refried beans on flour tortilla with green hot sauce on the side) which is so big that my wife and I often skip lunch. It's only 50¢ to add double bacon and I suggest doing that. The green hot sauce is so good. It's a tomatillo based salsa verde that is south Texas mild but boasts a great flavor that pairs perfectly with everything served here. Try it. The menu is extensive and out of curiosity I tried the burgers which were also quite good and well valued. They are the typical old school burger cooked on a flattop grill. Nothing too special but also nothing to complain about and well priced at about $6 for a burger, fries, and drink. I actually recommend it over any fast food burger chain. Henry's has also been very fast if you place your order inside or call ahead (I posted a recent menu). I noticed other reviews that mention a long wait in the drive thru but please realize that everything is made fresh to order and if there is a large order ahead of you it's going to take some time. It's not McD's. But it's fresh fast. Henry's has a large menu and there is something for everyone (except maybe vegans). I suggest that next time rather than going to a national chain you give Henry's a try. You're likely to find a new favorite place to get a quick, filling, and...
Read moreThis is the worst place that I ever been to. I ordered two double meat hamburger combos dry with bacon. Now for $15 which I feel is outrageous for the quality of food i received. Lets talk about the food, fries were cold, they gave me fallen apart meat on both burgers and only 1 and I do mean 1 piece of bacon on each burger they had lite brown wilted lettuce - let's just put it this way the food was not satisfactory at all. I would not try to rectify the problem because they don't own up to their mistakes. They did not greet me the way they greeted their own Hispanic race they treat them with much more compasion and acceptance than people of my African American race. I feel if im going to spend my hard earn money at a local restaurant. I would rather spend it at a place where i am treated like everyone one else and served food that is well presented, well cooked for a price that is reasonable. In the world that we live in today i cant believe we still can't all come together and treat each other the way we would like to be treated ourselves. I do not recommend this resturant to anyone unless there Hispanic. Which is...
