Be careful - this place was RUDE and DISCRIMINATING. I had eye surgery and cannot see upclose well and usually use a laptop or tablet instead of a phone. During my visit here, i needed to use the laptop to send an email while eating, and the server said "NO LAPTOP or TABLET - we are not a coffee shop" and gave me a vibe that I should leave. It was pretty rude.
I felt sad. I felt discriminated and was being treated differently because of my medical condition and a special need to sometimes use larger screen. Is it ILLEGAL to use a laptop? Why is it ok to use phones but not tablet to check messages? Since when is the tablet banned as long as it is done respectfully while eating and being reasonable with time?
For the context the place was empty (less than 20% full), and several people were on their phone while eating.
I politely mentioned that it is instead of phones, I'm willing to put it away soon and leave especially if the place get busy - in case they were worried about me spending hours there.
The way the male server handled it was NOT professional. They gave me excuses like this is not a cafe. But... I've seen people using a tablet and laptop in various restaurants and bars in the US and many other countries. I saw some people using laptops in this very restaurant! Even in high-end restaurants and no issues as long as they are respectful. This is the ONLY PLACE that was being UN-reasonable and making UNCOMFORTABLE comments about it.
I will definitely stop recommending this place to my church people. I don't want them to be treated like this, especially the elderly people who often use bigger screens.
Update - i went to a different korean restaurant to eat. They were completely OK although they were a little bit busier than CM Chicken! They said "yeah, using a laptop is no problem during the non-busy time 😊 Just make sure you don't use it excessively to the point where other guests have to wait to be seated". I used it for 30 mins and was...
Read moreMy daughter went out for takeout at this restaurant. She asked me if she could bring home something for me. I was hesitant because this restaurant was unfamiliar to me. After looking at photos from Google Maps. The crispy spicy chicken and onion rings looked interesting. When I attempted to eat these items, I quickly found the chicken too spicy, fatty, and not fully cooked. The onion rings had more coating than the onion. The sugar cane drink was so sweet, I wouldn't be surprised if sugar was added. There was also some sort of pickles something. The smell was very bad. This may be his it is supposed to smell, but I wasn't going to risk it. Would I ever eat here again? That's a huge NO!
After reading CM Chicken's response (which I appreciate), I apologize for assuming the sugar cane came from their restaurant. On the other hand, many consumers enjoy spicy food items. I would suggest that most of us would appreciate knowing the level of heat before purchasing spicy food items. Some warning that the reddish isn't spoiled even though they smell as if they were would be very helpful to those that may not be familiar with this style of food. Finally, the chicken was not fully cooked and the onion rings had so little onions in them that they were not...
Read moreGreat chicken wings! They are humongous though, so order sparingly! My friends and I ordered 3 types of chicken wings. It had 10 pieces of mixed flats and drums. I was so used to Wingstop wings and those are small AF.
Garlic Soy was nice. It had great crunch but the chicken was still juicy. It is on the sweeter side but not as sweet as a teriyaki sauce. Garlic was a bit prominent.
Snow Onion is my least favorite. Hella onions, so if you love that, this one is for you. Almost reminds me of the sour cream and onion flavor. It's sweet though, so I did not like that. Without the snow Onion and sauce, the base of the chicken was great. It's almost like a fried chicken from a usual joint but just wings.
Garlic Spicy with waffle fries was the best one. It had enough spice that kept you wanting to eat more. Crunchy batter and it was also a lil bit sweet. Very saucy!
I'd say if you love chicken wings, this is a good spot to eat at! Huge wings and very crunchy...
