If you have a disability stay far away from this place we had the horrorless experience today we walked into Burnt Tortilla I've been coming here for years by the way like many many years since I was a teenager and I'm 50 years old now I've never had any issues in the food is always been good. But for some weird reason today some woman who work there I've never seen before pushed her way through the staff areas she was at an approached my cousin who has a severe disability and a service dog you could clearly tell he's a service dog because he has all the correct documentation and she said she had to ask us two questions which is fine those are the normal two questions they have to ask but after my cousin proceeded to tell her the task that the service dog does the lady accused my cousin of lying and said that the only way they let service dogs in is if someone's in a wheelchair are blind I could not believe that she was saying this especially to someone with a disability. Then the lady proceeded to tell my cousin exactly in these words that service dogs are also not allowed because someone's emotions and my cousin responded to her again even after showing her the paperwork she had and responded to a lady letting the lady know that this is not an emotional support dog the dog is a service dog I could not believe it was happening I've never seen anything or anyone like this woman I don't like talking about negative stuff but she was a cruel Hearted Woman to be referring to person who has a disability and the way she did she was very uncaring and rude and very very embarrassing as people sat around in the waiting area staring at us she belittled my cousin of a little myself and this was totally unacceptable my cousin said that she'll be writing a letter to the Ada and contact them Monday morning since they were closed today this is pure discrimination for us we were walk away feeling horrible but we won't let that lady ruin our day but I feel horrible for other persons that I know she's probably treated that way unless she was discriminating upon us because my cousin's wife and I'm black that could possibly be it too regardless of the point the point is in this day and age we all have to stick together and this lady discriminated against us when there is clearly a service animal law that this restaurant is not in...
Read moreI want to give this place 4 stars but they have too many strikes to get my fan-ship.
Strike 1:- Wait time took FOREVER. It was Halloween, but it wasn't packed and it took what seemed like forever to order, get our food, get our check and get out. The chip and salsa was appetizing but still we spent more time waiting on our waiter than anything else. I can see why they "burnt the tortilla" they take too got dang long.
Strike 2: The seriously nickel and dime you for every little thing. Literally, 3 quarters for extra sauce (when we asked for a wet burrito and it hardly damp!) and 475 dimes for 4 dollops of guacamole! And not to mention they charged me per shrimp in my bean in cheese burrito at $1.50 PER shrimp (well above market price) and they erroneously charged us for two cokes when we only had one. Like around every corner there was a charge!
Strike 3: The food will give you instantaneous gas. Like mid-bite it will pass you like a freight train. It's good don't get me wrong but something about them beans were clearly the definition of the magically fruit that makes you toot! 24-hrs later i still have burrito gas -_-
The food was pretty good I wont even lie. I had the bean and cheese wet burrito with 3 shrimp and overall I really enjoyed my food. I just don't know if the (-) out weigh the (+). I would go back but not when I am starving nor if I...
Read more05/13/2023 So The Hubby found this place for us to go to. This was the first time here for us. We were amazed at how delicious the food is. The Mexican authenticity is real. We know, we love to travel and along the way we eat of course, and of the many places we've been to along the coast of California and all throughout, Burnt Tortilla definitely is among the few that stand out as Great! I had the wet Chicken Burrito in salsa Verde & one Margarita, Hubby had the Wet Chunky beef Burrito in salsa Roja & one Margarita, Daughter had the Chicken Nachos, and My Son had the Chicken Chimichanga and two Sprites. All were amazing in their own way, very tasty, well seasoned, juicy (not greasy) juicy! The meats were soft and tender never chewy, and a big plus was that the food stayed Hot even after we were almost done with it. The Margaritas were very good too, not too big, not too small, if ever you guys go to a restaurant and the drinks are too big you know it's been watered down. These drinks are just right! My Hubby paid for all of that we ordered (as mentioned above) only $94.87 plus tip. Highly recommend 👌 it's nice, clean,...
