As of February 2018 the restaurant has gone under heavy revamp. New owner New remodeling New employees New menu but still recognizable The place got a very beautiful remodeling for the dining area and much needed. The menu is similar to original favorites but new items have been added. Some items are made to order like the Egg Foo Young. Just a heads up if you are in a rush. Many favorites are still hot and ready and even a new ice cream bar is available with local Rite Aid/Thrifty ice cream. With new cooking equipment as well and cooks the food has definitely gone to something well worth trying. New delicious Thai Tea is also available for drinks also bottle, canned and fountain drinks. These new owners have shown that they love what they do and want to continue this local favorite to have a successful rebirth.

Ive know this spot since I was like 7. Now at 42 ive returned and its still good even if it's under new management. Service was gtrat. Attended me right away let me sample items I had never tried. Portions were huge 3 people could have shared. The food tasted great. I hate when its to salt. veggie were still crunch on the inside not soggie. plus white rice for got and I gunna be food for days. Dinner for 3 plus left overs under 20 bucks not bad at all. Recommand if you in the area...worth the stop

This was my first time trying this place for lunch since it was the closest chinese food place to work and it wasn’t the best quality. The food already looked old and was also pretty cold too. The broccoli felt like it wasnt fully cooked but that could just be my preference on texture and the chow mein was becoming stiff and lacked flavor. As for the chicken, it looked so sketch and super old that i didn’t even eat it. Overall I would say not to waste your money…

Just a little vent, we do like the occasional fast food Chinese but NEVER again will we go to the Hong Kong Express on Normandie and Redondo Beach. My fiance went in and got several plates, 4 were supposed to have BBQ PORK but when we got home, 3 out of the 4 were BBQ CHICKEN. Normally I'd be like that's fine but this was a birthday dinner and those are very different dishes. So he took them back. The lady told him, No, you said chicken, when he KNOWS he did NOT. So the man behind the counter took the plates, and put thee BBQ chicken BACK IN THE TRAY!! (After it had gone from the restaurant, to our car, into our house, opened by us, put back in the car and then back into the restaurant, then BACK into the tray that they serve EVERYONE out of!!) We are clean people but this is absolutely disgusting to me, and on top of that, they charged us extra to change it to the BBQ pork that we originally asked for!

Please, please do not eat there, there is no telling what they are doing to your food!!!! (Yes I'm aware these kinds of places aren't the greatest, but that was beyond...

The food is Ok (not that great)! What was terrible was the soda. I got up to tell them it was bad tasting and the Hispanic lady came to help she agreed it tasted bad. So I asked for a REFUND. The Asian lady comes to taste and starts laughing and said that I can choose another soda. I said Iagaim that I wanted a refund and they still tried to refuse. I asked the Asian lady why am I not entitled to a refund for something that tastes bad? So I finally got my refund but only the $2.50 not the taxes included. They don’t give receipts here so BE CAREFUL THEY DONT OVER CHARGE! I felt like I wasn’t treated fairly they could have easily over charged me. PLEASE ALWAYS ASK FOR YOUR RECEIPT! Do...
