Stopped by Dahl's chainsaw art and checked it out, really cool stuff!

Then we went to the salt and pepper shaker museum, as a joke, to waste time!

Ended up being late where we were going because what was supposed to be a twenty five minute joke turned into an hour and a half long adventure for me and my fourteen year old son.

Amazingly well curated and organized collection of all things salt and pepper shaker related accompanied by a friendly staff quick to answer questions.

For a family of any size this is ABSOLUTELY the best bang for your buck entertainment wise (probably in the country) in Gatlinburg (IMHO). It is less than $4 per person as of this writing and you can spend as much or as little time as you'd like... Toddler getting tired of salt and pepper shakers? It's a self-led tour, you can speed it up or slow it down to your liking. Make a game of finding their favorite cartoon characters or their least favorite vegetables, all made of salt and pepper shakers and get them back into it.

I've traveled the world for years and been to so many small museums and tourist traps... This is not that (again IMHO).

I will go back and take my family of seven next time, which will cost me less than $25!

Notice to parents of young ones You will probably have to hold their hand the whole time to keep them with you but the displays are fairly well protected (you don't have to worry about them being able to get to them and them breaking)

Spend the money, even if it's more expensive than as I write this. Make a memory with your kids None of you will...

We are on our on “honeymoon part 2” after coming to Gatlinburg from Jamaica, and this was the best thing we’ve done so far in Gatlinburg. As an art history graduate, I found this museum to be spectacular. There are over 20,000 salt and pepper shakers. For those complaining that it’s nothing “special” and just salt and pepper shakers makes zero sense. It’s literally called “Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum,” so you should know exactly what you’re walking into when you arrive lol. The woman who owns it is super sweet and her mother was the original collector and she is also a collector. They built a museum in Spain as well as donated 14,000 shakers to Israel. The history of the collection is so interesting. If you take the time to look at them all I would say you need over an hour, but if you could spend more or less. Honestly, it isn’t worth it if you’re going to run through it in 20 minutes because there is SO much to see. The gift shop is affordable and super cool; they let you apply your $3 already paid for admission as a discount for what you buy in the shop. Great for kids or adults; no public bathrooms. Hours 10-2, so those complaining it isn’t open is ridiculous (they are a small museum so it would make sense for them not to be open all hours of the night). Good location, located around other cute stores you...

If you're looking for a museum that really spices things up, look no further than the Salt & Pepper Shaker Museum. This place is a flavor explosion disguised as a collection of tiny table-top condiments. I entered a skeptic, I left a changed man—possibly more sodium-enriched.

The museum has over 20,000 pairs of shakers, which is about 19,998 more than I thought existed. There are shakers shaped like presidents, pickles, cows, corn, aliens, and even an unsettlingly chipper Dracula. I had no idea Dracula was so passionate about seasoning his meals.

I took my lovely wife here initially with a little tongue in cheek — she now refers to it as “our spicy visit” and insists on commemorating here every anniversary. Nothing says romance like a pepper shaker shaped like a winking eggplant.

The curator was knowledgeable, friendly, and frankly way too excited about salt. She described the difference between ceramic and glass shakers with the intensity of a TED Talk. I’ve never respected salt more in my life.

I give it 5/5 and would recommend if you're looking for something quirky, hilarious, unexpectedly educational and simply delicious. Bring a shaker of your own if you want...

The Salt & Pepper Shaker Museum is a delightful hidden gem that offers a surprisingly fascinating experience for visitors of all ages. As someone whose aunt collects salt and pepper shakers, I was particularly excited to see such an extensive and varied collection—and it did not disappoint. The museum showcases an impressive range of shakers, from quirky and whimsical designs to elegant and vintage pieces, truly highlighting the creativity and charm behind these everyday items. I also thought this would be something the kids might enjoy, and they were genuinely intrigued by the sheer variety and uniqueness of the pieces on display. At just $3 per person, the admission feels like a steal for the amount of fun and insight packed into the visit. Whether you’re a collector, a history buff, or just looking for a quirky and educational outing, the Salt & Pepper Shaker Museum is definitely worth a stop. Highly recommend!
