We attended the craft show in Gatlinburg. Vendors from all over were there selling their crafts. Ranging from stuffed toys, wood working, jewelry, signs, custom wood boxes. To antiques, knives, food, drinks, alcoholic, making your own bourbon. To making slashes at home. Walking up to the Convention Center you are met with the sound of a chain saw. Inside a enclosed area you see a person carving wood with a chain saw. There are multiple pieces displayed created by the artist. We purchased the bear in the photo. If you asked the artist @ each stand if you could video the demonstration they said yes. We were also allowed to take pictures. They offer a Military service discount of the entrance fee. We sent just shy of 2hrs. inside the center. Restrooms were spotless. Plenty of people working to give assistance when needed. All of the vendors were fantastic. We actually found Christmas gifts. I highly recommend visiting the craft show. Once you finish the craft show wonder around Gatlinburg. Shops line both sides of the street. Ranging from clothing, food, Moonshine, wine, icecream to toys. Restrooms are located in different areas. Parking is available in several locations. We parked across the street from the Space Needle. We paid $5.00 for all day. Be prepared to walk several miles each way. There are multiple arcades and minature golf sites. Along with multiple...
Read moreThe convention center had two different experiences during our stay. The first wad an arts and crafts display and tune other wad the Christmas tree display I'm n the main ballroom I believe. The trees were absolutely amazing! Various businesses around town had sponsored and decorated trees by choosing a theme. Then those trees could be sold and given to the buyer at the end of the event. I believe that they we're raising money for some charitable organization, but I'm not sure which one. Either way, it was a great idea, and you should definitely take the time to see the yes if you're ever up in Gatlinburg when the festival of trees is there. It's a real winner! The arts and crafts show had several booths with some great things for sale. My favourite were the blown glass, the wooden bowls and other decorative items made completely from wood, organic lotions and soaps, kitchen items, homemade toys and puzzles, and homemade hair accessories (see photos). If you like craft shows,...
Read moreI was here as part of an event. We were told that our XLR/SDI cables could not be gaffed to the floor but instead had to be flown (attached to the ceiling). We were not allowed to do this ourselves with their scissor lift, so naturally we were on their time - during both on load in and load out. During load out, they were quick to retrieve their own ethernet line, but went MIA less than 15 minutes later when it came time to bring our audio/video cables down. We were told they were on a break. After more than 30 minutes and multiple calls to the building manager later, they show up. Instead of bringing our cables down to the floor, they made the choice to pile them on top of the lift platform, tangling them in the process, cutting through one of the lines, and walking across the mass of cables to get off the lift (audio cables can be fragile if mistreated), then not providing assistance to correct the mess THEY created. All because they were seemingly upset about having to...
