Smoky Mountain Coffee Co (Frontier Coffee Company) is a wonderful little coffee shop just off the beaten path on the main drag in Gatlinburg, TN in a little village of shops and restaurants called "Calhoun's Village" which is located up towards the Smoky Mountain Natl. Park side of the main strip through Gatlinburg.
The nice thing about it being a little off the beaten path is that it isn't elbow to elbow pushing through people to get in and enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the morning. Also there are other cute shops in Calhoun's Village and an adorable little creek that you can cross and go over to swing on a little swingset. A nice place to take the kids to run out some energy before venturing back into the swarms of people on the main drag. (There is also free public parking behind Calhoun's Village that you wouldn't know about unless you drove up there which means there are usually spots available).
We found out that they are veteran owned and operated as well and they roast their own beans right in the state of Tennessee that you can buy in their shop or via their online store (Frontier Coffee Co)!!! They are a newer business in town but I'd definitely recommend them over the commercial places on the main drag. Did you really come to Gatlinburg to get Starbucks? And does Starbucks have Bourbon Caramel as one of their latte flavors?!
BTW the Bourbon Caramel Latte was DELICIOUS. Non-alcoholic but the bourbon flavor was still there. Almost tasted a little like a creme brulee. Unique and Tasty! We had a great time on our last visit chatting with one of the baristas and all thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. :) 10/10...
Read moreThis place has absolutely become an instant favorite of mine. We stopped here this morning for coffee and a bite to eat. My boyfriend ordered me an iced coffee with vanilla and caramel and there were 3 shots of espresso added. It was so smooth, and the sweetness was balanced just right. I was wanting a breakfast sandwich, but he ordered cinnamon rolls because there weren't any sandwiches. I was a little worried at first since places don't truly make homemade cinnamon rolls. I am pretty positive the owner made these and just froze or refrigerated them as I saw her pull some out of the freezer or refrigerator. They were golden brown and tasted 100 percent from scratch. They were HUGE and AMAZING. She brought them out to us, which was super nice, and she herself is very nice. Great customer service. I Highly recommend this place, and we will be back anytime we are back down in Gatlinburg. Nice little hidden gem! Oh and I can't forget the prices!!! They are SO reasonable! Great quality, great customer service. Please...

Whenever I travel, I make it a point to find the best local coffee spotâand this time, that led me to Smoky Mountain Coffee & Creamery in Gatlinburg. I came across it on Google Maps, noticed the strong reviews, and saw that it's under new ownership, so I decided to give it a try.
The coffee didnât disappoint. It came in a large cup and had a great balanceârich, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. You could tell it was made with care, not just tossed together.
Only drawback? No printed receipts. Theyâll ask for a phone number or email to send it digitally. I get it, but if youâre visiting from out of town like I was, handing over your info isnât idealâespecially if youâre not looking for follow-up messages.
Still, thatâs a small gripe. The coffee was worth the stop, and if youâre in Gatlinburg and want something local and well-made, this place is absolutely worth...
