Smoky Mountain Coffee Co (Frontier Coffee Company) is a wonderful little coffee shop just off the beaten path on the main drag in Gatlinburg, TN in a little village of shops and restaurants called "Calhoun's Village" which is located up towards the Smoky Mountain Natl. Park side of the main strip through Gatlinburg.

The nice thing about it being a little off the beaten path is that it isn't elbow to elbow pushing through people to get in and enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the morning. Also there are other cute shops in Calhoun's Village and an adorable little creek that you can cross and go over to swing on a little swingset. A nice place to take the kids to run out some energy before venturing back into the swarms of people on the main drag. (There is also free public parking behind Calhoun's Village that you wouldn't know about unless you drove up there which means there are usually spots available).

We found out that they are veteran owned and operated as well and they roast their own beans right in the state of Tennessee that you can buy in their shop or via their online store (Frontier Coffee Co)!!! They are a newer business in town but I'd definitely recommend them over the commercial places on the main drag. Did you really come to Gatlinburg to get Starbucks? And does Starbucks have Bourbon Caramel as one of their latte flavors?!

BTW the Bourbon Caramel Latte was DELICIOUS. Non-alcoholic but the bourbon flavor was still there. Almost tasted a little like a creme brulee. Unique and Tasty! We had a great time on our last visit chatting with one of the baristas and all thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. :) 10/10...

This place has absolutely become an instant favorite of mine. We stopped here this morning for coffee and a bite to eat. My boyfriend ordered me an iced coffee with vanilla and caramel and there were 3 shots of espresso added. It was so smooth, and the sweetness was balanced just right. I was wanting a breakfast sandwich, but he ordered cinnamon rolls because there weren't any sandwiches. I was a little worried at first since places don't truly make homemade cinnamon rolls. I am pretty positive the owner made these and just froze or refrigerated them as I saw her pull some out of the freezer or refrigerator. They were golden brown and tasted 100 percent from scratch. They were HUGE and AMAZING. She brought them out to us, which was super nice, and she herself is very nice. Great customer service. I Highly recommend this place, and we will be back anytime we are back down in Gatlinburg. Nice little hidden gem! Oh and I can't forget the prices!!! They are SO reasonable! Great quality, great customer service. Please...

Smoky Mountain Coffee & Creamery – Gatlinburg, TN ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (4.5/5)

Whenever I travel, I make it a point to find the best local coffee spot—and this time, that led me to Smoky Mountain Coffee & Creamery in Gatlinburg. I came across it on Google Maps, noticed the strong reviews, and saw that it's under new ownership, so I decided to give it a try.

The coffee didn’t disappoint. It came in a large cup and had a great balance—rich, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. You could tell it was made with care, not just tossed together.

Only drawback? No printed receipts. They’ll ask for a phone number or email to send it digitally. I get it, but if you’re visiting from out of town like I was, handing over your info isn’t ideal—especially if you’re not looking for follow-up messages.

Still, that’s a small gripe. The coffee was worth the stop, and if you’re in Gatlinburg and want something local and well-made, this place is absolutely worth...

I’ve visited three times in the last month because I like it that much! Coffee and espresso (even the decaf) are high quality roasts; there’s a variety of flavors to add to your drinks (I’ve tried Irish cream, hazelnut, and bourbon caramel… all great!), and there’s an oat milk option if you’re plant based or dairy free! Ice cream is Hershey’s and wonderful and makes a great affogato 👌🏼🔥 Environment is quaint, cute, and features a bar area to sit and enjoy your joe, situated next to a double window boasting views of Ski Mountain and Calhoun’s Village. Hannah, Caleb, and Richie have all served me and are super friendly and conversational to everyone who enters. Quick service too. I recommend!

Google says they were open until 9 on Sundays and we showed up at 8:32 and it was closed. No hours on the doors or anything. If you want to visit this place.... id call and make sure they are open first. 🤦‍♂️ Edit: stopped in again this morning and ordered a Iced Caramel Latte (super sweet) for the wife and a strawberry smoothie for myself. They were out of strawberry so I settled for a mixed berry. I dont typically like mixed berry smoothies but I had already paid before learning they were out. The gentleman behind counter was very polite. I recommend visiting! Id definitely visit again!
