Best Mexican food in Georgetown. This place has been open about a week. Located in a strip mall, the interior decor is casual but nice. They don't have their liquor license yet, so for a limited time, the beer is free when you order an entree. The tortilla chips were mediocre, but that's my only complaint. They serve two complimentary salsas, mild and hot. I like medium heat, and the hot was a bit much for my liking, though my husband thought it was not that hot. The mild is, indeed, very mild. The salsas were good, but not exceptional. We started out with the espinaca con queso, a white queso with spinach. It's truly one of the best, if not the best, quesos I have had. We both loved it. My husband got the shrimp enchiladas with charro beans and rice on the side, and enjoyed it all. I got the pollo en crema, chicken in a garlic cream sauce with mushrooms and bacon, with refried beans and rice. It has a pepper next to it on the menu, indicating that it is spicy, but I would consider it only mildly spicy. But the taste--wow! Amazing. It tastes like a Mexican carbonara sauce. I am even more picky about the quality of my food than I am about the taste. The quality of both the chicken and the bacon was great, and the flavoring was incredible. My husband agreed. His meal was very good, but the pollo en crema is just exceptional, and something I've never seen before. The accompanying refried beans had a wonderful texture and taste too. The portions are generous, and we were both stuffed by the time we left. The restaurant is owned by a husband and wife team, and we had a nice chat with her. They recently moved here after running a Mexican restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska for about 20 years. No doubt Anchorage was sad to see them go, but their loss is our gain. I was raised in Austin, and I have that Austinite pickiness when it comes to my Mexican food. They may not be from here, but Marisol's Mexican Grill is one of the best Mexican places I've eaten, and I'm looking forward to trying more items off their tempting menu. Now if they would just take my suggestion and serve breakfast...

Read moreBEAUTIFUL Atmosphere. Our visit started out well, we were greeted and seated quickly. Our server was really sweet. We got the chori queso (the Monterrey melted in the skillet with chorizo) and it was FANTASTIC. The only problem was, there was a piece of mushroom in it which should not have been there, and my wife is allergic to them. She was able to get to her medicine in time though, and was fine. The server offered to get the manager to do something about it, but we told her it was okay, and we weren't looking for a discount or anything, we just want the manager to tell the chefs to be more careful. Then all the trouble started. The shrimp "fajitas for two" which costs nearly $45, were half the size and half the shrimp of a normal Mexican restaurants fajitas for one. Photo below for reference is what you get for $45. I complained to her about that, and she apologized, but after that, we didn't see her again until our food was almost gone. She did eventually come back and refill my drink and asked my wife if she wanted another bottled coke, but we were almost finished. I never received my tortillas, but by that time, I didn't bother saying anything. The fajitas were the blandest, least flavorful fajitas I've ever had, but my wife liked her shrimp cocktail. This restaurant has promise, but it's definitely not someplace I will ever return to to if you're going to rip off your customers and charge $45 for fajitas that barely felt like an appetizer. The queso was more filling. Also my wife got twice the amount of shrimp in her cocktail that I got in my fajitas which costed twice as much. Get it...
