This was a very disappointing experience. I'm not afraid to say this. I hope they'll read it and get better because it's a beautiful shop. My girlfriend and I ordered two latte style hot drinks and a avocado toast. We asked to remove the egg and cream on the toast, and add potatoes and refried beans on the side. We sat at a table and the first things to arrive were our coffees. Both of the coffees were lukewarm. Now here's where I'm perplexed. You are a coffee shop. Your business is coffee. This is one thing that you supposed to have experience with, and you consider yourself a professional, right? Why would you serve lukewarm coffee when the expectation is hot coffee? Next, the food arrives. It's a avocado toast, with the lightest spread of avocado paste that you can do without seeing the toast underneath. The bread was very low quality as well and not even toasted. On top of that. The fried potatoes were absolutely cold. Then to add insult to injury, the refried beans were on a flat plate and we're basically a dehydrated refried bean powder with too much water mixed in. If you picked it up you'd have a hard time not to spill it. This was our experience of the food and drinks here. It cost us $40 with tip. I called a server to let them know and while nice, they offered nothing to us other than a sorry, can we make the drink again for you. I let her know that she could just microwave it as not to waste it. And there you have it. Beautiful, adorable place with zero execution and no standards. Why open a business when you can't even make food or drinks? Seriously, get this right and you'll...
Read moreWonderful & quaint cafe + boutique! Upon walking in, the friendly staff greeted me and asked me if I had any questions, showed me the menu, and were very attentive; the service throughout my visit was wonderful. This place is beautiful; I love the unique setting with a warm, natural, urban-chic Mexican minimalist theme, and the coffee and food were SO delicious! The Decor With Amor home goods boutique is attached with beautiful handmade items, which is a fun place to browse as you wait, and although the cafe space is smallish, it does not feel cramped at all. I ordered the Horchata Latte (half sweetened) & Cowboy Toast, as well as the Cinco Crepe to go. I cannot tell you how savory everything was, with wholesome & flavorful tastes!
There are two improvements I would suggest- either bigger chairs or lower tables (I felt like I was sitting low, especially trying to cut my food), and perhaps dine-in mugs instead of to-go cups for customers dining in. Sipping from a well-made mug goes a long way as far as overall vibes go, in my opinion.
Fortunately for my bank account, this place is 30 minutes from me, otherwise I would have to frequent it almost daily, it's that good! I...
Read moreDisappointed by the Decline in Portion Sizes
I've been a customer for the last 5 months, and I’ve always appreciated the quality and generous portions—especially the chilaquiles, which used to be the highlight of the plate. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case.
Lately, I've noticed a steady decline in the amount of chilaquiles served. What was once a well-balanced and satisfying plate has now become mostly beans and salsa, with only a modest portion of chilaquiles. All of this while the price has stayed the same. I understand that costs go up and adjustments are sometimes necessary, but it feels like the heart of the dish—the chilaquiles—has taken a backseat.
As a loyal customer, it's disappointing to see the quality and portion sizes shrink while pricing remains unchanged. Consistency is key, especially when you build a customer base on a certain standard. I truly hope this feedback is taken in the spirit of improvement, because I really want to keep supporting this business—but it has to...
