Update below ...
I went for my last time to this Applebee’s today for lunch, a party of 2. We ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer to eat there. I ordered hot buffalo wings to go, to have later. My bill was $60.72 (change may be off, I didn’t think to save the receipt.) I paid $70 in cash with the tip.
I got home and discovered upon putting my “wings” up that I had what looked like nuggets of chicken. I called the restaurant and a man named Felix answered, I said I had a complaint , he said he was the manager. When I explained the error of the wings he said “oh, that’s because down at the bee, when you order that it means boneless wings.” I said are you saying that I the customer am wrong? He put me on hold.
Then after a wait a man came on the line and said he was the manager named Kel. I was frustrated by this time, and I’m sure my voice has a tone. He was very rude and condescending. He asked for my name and cut me off before I could finish. I said don’t you want my last name which I then gave, then he kept saying miss Kathy Janes in a sing song voice , so rude. I started laughing and said can I have the corporate number please.
He hung up on me, and I called back. He said he hung up because he’s not going to listen to me yell in his ear. I wasn’t yelling, I was laughing and asking for the corporate number when he hung up on me. With all the restaurants around you’d think customer service might be better.
This Applebees has never been up to par. The wait is always long for your food, even when it’s not busy. Some of the servers I’ve experienced are lackadaisical, and one couldn’t give back correct change on a $100 bill several visits ago.
I will be giving my money to other restaurants besides Applebees in Bethlehem from now on.
Luckily their corporate office has very nice customer service! Thank you for kind service (Leona - Guest Relations Specialist )
Update. Thanks for your response. I gave my name and number to your manager if more information was needed. I understand mistakes, and wanted to inform management about the error. I wasnt angry, it was just a little upsetting when you get all the way home and discover it. I didn't expect to be told over and over that it was my mistake. I didn't expect the managers at your store to deal with a customer issue with mocking and condescension. I just wanted a response that signaled that I'd been heard on it. I didn't even expect that I'd get the order at a future visit. This was offered at the end, but I'll choose other restaurants.
I checked your link and I think I explained everything well already with the previous phone conversations and I gave the entire story already here and to your corporate complaints...
Read moreDuring lunch at Applebys today, we had a good waitress named Christie, who doubled as the bartender. So.. near the end of our lunch, a black man who was apparently the manager on duty (MOD) began walking up & down the aisle next to us, AFTER all the nearby customers had left. He never spoke to us, never said hi, never waved, never asked us how our meal was, AND he had a frown on his face, each time he passed by. So we thought it was because we were sitting there too long. He was very unfriendly and strange. And the restaurant had very few customers! After departing the restaurant, my guest and I took a few selfies in parking lot, talked, and spent at least 20+ minutes total time in parking lot, then drove off.
About an hour later, I realized I left a very important 4x6" doctors appointment notebook at the restaurant, so I drove back to Applebees feeling sure the staff would put it away for me. I was wrong.
The unfriendly MOD, Felix Tatum, claimed he didn't see it, and was as unconcerned as could be. He said HE was the one who cleared our table. I said, then you must've seen it, it was large enough, and it was a bright green color on their very dark tables and chairs, it was easy to spot. He told me to "go look under the table for it, maybe it fell on the floor," which I had done initially. Then we finally walked over to the table, but he just stood there, wasn't bending or looking for it.
Then, he never said, give me your phone number, in case it turns up. He was very obvious that he didn't give a damn.
Lastly, I asked him for Applebee's phone number. He just walked off, and I thought he went to retrieve the business card. Then, after he was taking a long time to come back, I went to the kitchen area and asked a server to write down their phone number and his name, which she did on a tiny piece of paper. MOD didn't even have any business cards!! And none on the front podium!
Whoever the owner of this Applebees is, needs to hire a manager who is 'CUSTOMER FRIENDLY.' I know beyond the shadow of a doubt, that Mr Tatum threw my notebook away, or hid it somewhere, because he doesn't like black people. When I told him this, he was 'offended.' Poor Mr Tatum. That notebook had all my doctors' appointments in it, including names, addresses, suite numbers, dates and times, and my surgery information was in it, also. MOD could care less after I disclosed this to him.
My very large family will never ever go back to this Applebees restaurant. The meals are very expensive, for the small amount of food you get. Just not worth it.
Only 2 waitresses in the...
Read moreAtmosphere was nice, service iffy (depends on who you get), but food wasn't good. It was dry, lacked flavor, and was missing the sauce. Ordered the bourbon street chicken and shrimp, my favorite dish, I always order it at every applebees. It's also always the same, but it came out very bland because it was missing the buttery garlic sauce. When I asked for some they told me it was only butter and had melted. I go to the locations in monroe and loganville all the time and get this, its not just butter. The manager at this this location (bethlehem) even confirmed it ishould be a thicker sauce, not just butter, and it's put on top of the chicken and shrimp (same as it normally is). The person I was with also ordered the same dish also didn't get the sauce. They said their's was also dry, lacked flavor, and tasted like plain grilled chicken. The person who tried to tell me is just butter switched to saying it just melted.. really.. thats insulting. The thicker buttery garlic sauce was NOT melted, because it was not on the plate at all. You could NOT taste it on anything. I would know, I checked to make sure I didn't miss it before asking for help. Yes I'm aware it can melt, I had that happen at other locations (never an issue) but you can still SEE & TASTE it when that happens. Okay things happen, maybe I caught them on an off night is what I thought. When I knew i had to ask for help, ai realized my waitress was busy (WHICH IS OKAY, I didn't have any issue with that). So I patiently waited for an opportunity to ask a server. I also waited until that person (the one I asked) was not busy and didn't have their hands full before asking. I know whats its like to be bombarded, so I patiently waited for the right opportunity to ask. The hostess had actually thanked me for being patient at one point. I'm not one to complain, I usually only leave good reviews, you can check my other reviews to see that, but I likely won't be back to this Applebee's. Bad food happens, mistakes happen, but being rude, short, and basically telling me I'm wrong and don't know what this dish is suppose to taste like is kind of ridiculous. All I wanted was a small cup of ot, I'd have paid for it if needed, but instead of getting me a small cup of sauce, they wanted to argue. Just my experience, it wasn't a good first impression, and hope other people have...
