I had not been to this restaurant for several years; due to the fact that the last time I was there, the woman up front was rude, the order was incorrect ( but ended up taking it anyway) & when I arrived home, after a few bites, the food had been tossed by me & my sons. My husband wanted Chinese food last night, but given I'd lived here longer, I told him there were none in the area I was aware of, that were fairly consistent terms of quality. He looked up restaurants & pointed to Peking Chinese. I pointed out the above & he suggested that management could have changed or quality improved. They seemed to be geared towards ordering online, which we did & once the order was placed they send repeated texts advising where the order was terms of completion. Originally suggested it'd take 20 minutes or so, but received message after approx.5 minutes order was ready. When my husband arrived home, we unpacked & plated. He had Cashew Chicken w/ fried rice combination platter. He said the Chicken with Cashew nuts was "ok." But the "fried rice" was bland, tasteless & threw away a good portion of rice. I ordered the Boneless "Spare ribs" combination platter. The " spare ribs" were actually little slices of pork in some " sauce" that were somewhat dry, & kind of tough. The rice again, bland, flavorless. I ate the egg roll & dumped the rest. We'd ordered a side of Crab Rangoon and after eating a few, playing find the crab, we threw those out. So they get two stars for portion size & speed of the order being ready; if that's what your focus is on. But if you're looking for flavor & quality, in my opinion, it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food here is great. If you want to try something awesome, get the Singapore Mei Fun. Was reading through the reviews and one in particular caught my eye, something about chicken fried rice coming from a pot. I've worked in several Chinese restaurants over the years, and don't think you understand how they work. The rice is cooked throughout the day, and stored in hot holders (the pot a reviewer referred to.) All restaurants do it this way, the rice they use is not instant rice and takes upwards of a hour to cook, not possible to cook small amounts of rice to order, you'd be waiting an hour. This rice is taken from hold, and fried in the wok with the protein you choose along with the egg and veg. So no, your chicken fried rice didn't come from a pot, the rice was in hot hold until an order came in. Hope...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is an update to my previous review below. I visted again because I didn't feel like driving to Winder. However, I had much better service this time. There was still confusion with the price of the General T shrimp however, the situation was adressed better. I will no longer order that dish because of fluating price however, I will dine in again. They were pleasant and the meal was great. He also gave us a calender which I thought was really nice.
Previous Review The food takes standard like most Chinese food when your craving. However the prices fluctuates. One day I charged price and the next day it was different. I can get the same food in Gwinnett county much cheaper. The place is clean. They talked in Chinese when I asked them about change in prices which I...
