Had high hopes. The cucumbers were good, no bread at all. Chips were underwhelming and ranch sauce was bland. Shrimps - now those were excellent!! (1st earned star).
Waiter didnât know steaks were aged, and thereâs a distinct difference from rare to medium. I do enjoy rare, but not often from restaurants where I donât control the food.
The steak was nearly flavorless, but had a mild pepper-forward sear. Iâll resurrect the remaining half in the steamer to slice for sandwiches tomorrow.
Stack three Waffle House steaks on top of each other and still save $20 and youâd have a better presentation than the âhere, eat thisâ that was placed in front of me. The toothpick flags system for breed distinction is confusing your staff.
The âBison Brisketâ is NOT brisket. Just call it pot roast. Also, bland as could be. All flavor cooked out in favor of tenderness, but not sufficiently to render soft fats.
Whichever intern in the art department who thought it wise to state such on the menu should immediately pray to the gods of both the flat and the point for mercy.
âBenedictiones de Sancto Brisket. Crusta valida sit et columba interior cum humili et lento ardore mille animarum ardentium liquefaciat eorum qui iustam suam vindicationem in Castrum Ironium thronum blasphemant!â
As we left we saw the dinner crowd arrive. Lots of khaki shorts, long socks and tucked in polos. Median age 56. Maybe thatâs the crowd that likes bland, and if so - more power to them! Go get that social security check before they send it to some crazy politician. Just not my basket of bland chips.
Finally⌠if youâre going to have paper straws⌠pay for the good ones. Cheaping out on such a detail makes for a unnecessary frustrating experience. So many straw wrappers and broken straws piled up. I swear we were doing nothing abnormal. Really weird.
Enjoyed the decor. Nice to hang a jacket and purse. They let us eat our own cake which I know they didnât have to. The staff wasnât informed but not their fault, yet all were kind and helpful (2nd...
Read moreUpdate: I posted this review on 2 other sites and Ted's replied and asked me to email a pshearer so they could invite me in for the experience I should have received.. I emailed Ms. Shearer and 2 weeks later there was no reply. Emailed her a second time and never heard back. So I felt like their reply to my review was for show so that readers would think Ted's is committed to making things right but they are not! Wish I could give them -5 stars.
Original review: We went to the Buford Georgia location near Atlanta. Ordered 3 medium rare burgers, but received 1 rare, 1 medium, and 1 well done. I told the waitress, but said we didn't want to wait for new burgers since we were very hungry. Just thought they might have someone new in the kitchen. They weren't inedible, so i didnt expect any money off bill. Waitress winked and said that maybe she could talk manager into "free dessert for the whole table." Later, she came over with the manager, who apologized profusely and waitress listed dessert options. Manager suggested we order the biggest one. (Turns out that was because our party of 4 would be sharing 1 dessert.) When she mentioned the Fudge Brownie Sundae, i asked if it was the Kahlua Fudge Brownie Sundae and she nodded. I said I'd have that. My husband said he'd have the... (Waitress walked off before he could finish.). My 86 year old Mom didnt get to order the strawberry shortcake she was looking forward to. They brought the Fudge Brownie Sundae with 4 spoons. No kahlua on it even though there was no one under 55 at our table) So we went from being a little disappointed that our food wasn't cooked properly to being angry that we'd each pictured receiving our own individual desserts and they'd used deceptive wording. Also, the portions for the burger and fries were smaller than they used to be,...
Read moreOur experience at Teds at Mall of Georgia had a lot to be desired and was off from many of our previous visits to other locations. First, at a time where two of our friends have just died of covid, none of the employees were wearing masks. Maybe one or two in the kitchen had them around their neck, but from the moment you walk in and talk to the front, to the table, to the grill, to the manager who came by to check on us, everyone was breathing directly on us and our food. Search the news on Ted's in Atlanta the last week of August and you'll see the consequence of this. Next, because our party was a bigger party, I used their call ahead within 24 hours and have your party prioritized in seating. I called exactly 23 hours before. When we arrived, there was no record of my name. They did however take my word for it and do their best, but still incompetent that people who called ahead the prior day for lunch the next day, got thrown away. Next was the salad I ordered for lunch and it had it Ted's a dozen times was so over seasoned, that my lips we're shuffling from the salt. I down nine glasses of water after eating a third of my salad. Again, they did their best by taking it off the bill, which I did not ask for but did honestly reply to the manager when asked that my meal was way too salty. He admitted that there was seasoning added to that particular salad and it can be heavy-handed at times. The server was very pleasant and did a good job connecting with us and very responsive to our table on a busy Sunday afternoon. All in all it was a mediocre experience, and not what were used to from Ted's. We probably won't go back to that location, but will continue to...
