If you're looking for a dining experience that combines the thrill of waiting endlessly with the excitement of being completely ignored by the staff, then Whataburger in Buford, GA is the place for you. My recent visit to this establishment was nothing short of a nightmare, leaving me utterly disappointed and frustrated.
Let's start with the staff. Or should I say the invisible employees? It was as if I had stumbled upon a deserted fast-food joint. The lack of interaction from the staff was astonishing. Not a single greeting or acknowledgment was offered as I approached the counter. It was as if I had become an unwelcome intruder in their sacred space.
To add insult to injury, the wait times at Whataburger were beyond comprehension. I naively thought that fast food was supposed to be, well, fast. Oh, how wrong I was. I clocked in a staggering wait time of 1 hour and 15 minutes before I finally gave up and demanded a refund. I could have watched an entire movie or read a substantial portion of a book in that amount of time!
During my excruciating wait, I observed other customers who were just as bewildered and frustrated as I was. It seemed like everyone was equally exasperated by the glacial pace at which the orders were being prepared. The few staff members present appeared to be aimlessly wandering around, oblivious to the fact that customers were growing increasingly impatient.
As for the food itself, well, I can't comment on it because I never actually received any. After waiting for over an hour, I couldn't bear the disappointment any longer and decided to cut my losses. It's truly a shame that I wasn't able to taste what Whataburger had to offer, but at that point, it was a matter of self-preservation.
In conclusion, Whataburger in Buford, GA is a prime example of how not to run a fast-food establishment. The complete lack of staff interaction, combined with the excruciatingly long wait times, made for an utterly frustrating and disappointing experience. I strongly advise potential customers to steer clear of this particular location unless they have an unquenchable desire to waste their time and energy.
Note: If you're in Buford, GA and craving a quick and pleasant bite to eat, I highly recommend heading across the street to Culver's. Their efficient and friendly staff, combined with delicious food, will provide you with a vastly superior dining experience. Don't let the disappointing experience at Whataburger ruin your day; give Culver's a try and savor a satisfying meal without the unnecessary...

I will start off by saying the food and the portions themselves were great overall for fast-food, however, the customer service and atmosphere is another subject.
This location has been opened over 90 days now and it’s taken most of that timeframe for them to open AND keep open their lobby. For our recent family trip, we decided to attempt dining in. As usual they were busy, but that does not justify how employees talk to customers and how managers ignore the feedback. The associate working the front register legitimately yelled at two separate guest due to them simply requesting a dip cup. She then loudly stated they were “too busy” and demanded another employee go lock the front doors with about 40 guests inside. When a separate guest got up to exit the restaurant and manually unlock the door, this allowed new guest to enter, in which the associate continued with her rant. Keep in mind the collard blue shirt manager walking around the lobby did absolutely nothing. Eventually, the manager walked up to the associate and stated “you’re going to have to keep taking orders”. Clearly the employee did not like this.. so she just disappeared. They had about 8 guest in-line and 5-6 waiting for orders, but after the register workers disappeared.. the blue collard manager just followed suit. Not a single person returned to the lobby to assist, apologize, or even say “we can’t serve you and we are closing”.
Before placing our order we also directly asked “is your milkshake machine working” because we’ve learned that 90% of the time it isn’t. We were told yes and purchased (2) 16oz and (2)32oz milkshakes. Once food was received we were informed “our milkshake machine is down”. Once I questioned why “the machine is being cleaned”.. keep in mind this was at 7PM on a Saturday! We also couldn’t get a refund for the shakes we purchased but couldn’t receive due to the staff taking a 25 min leave of absence and we were simply over it.
Overall a pathetic and awful experience. Lack of training. Lack of leadership. And completely lack of pride or care.
Way to knock it out of the park “Whataburger”! Welcome to GA - as a restaurant chain owner ourselves, we are sure you’ll be around...
Read moreThis is probably the 4th time we have been to this location and this is the first time the lobby was open. So me, my husband and 3 kids dined in. I actually ordered online before we arrived and was quoted food to be ready at 8:01-8:03. We walk into a very clustered sea of people. One cashier who was absurdly rude to everyone. Insisted on locking the door, as customers would leave they would have to unlock and she was getting so irate and the manager said to her “you’re just going to have to keep taking orders” and she was very visibly mad. She also had a customer come up to the side (because she was the only employee up there) and asked for a sauce because her sandwich didn’t come with the sauce it was supposed to. She told the woman she’d have to pay for it. Mind you- in the next 60 seconds another customer gets handed 4 sauces by a different employee and is told “don’t worry about the charge, thanks for waiting” the customer that had asked for sauce when and sat back down, the cashier left her position at the register and went to the woman that asked for a sauce in front of the entire restaurant and verbally told her how rude that was and she needs to apologize. She then vanished and the front counter was left un-manned for over 15 minutes. I stood and waited on my food and did not receive until 8:50. And then I asked for the drinks for the meals which were Dr.Pepper shakes. (The Dr Pepper shake has been out of service or out of stock every single time we have come here) that’s when they informed me that they didn’t have any. It took 10 min to get just vanilla shakes after settling for that. We then sit down to realize 3/5 meals were made completely incorrect. I double checked my online order to verify it was incorrect on their end. I honestly didn’t even have the patience to ask them to correct it. The food was cold. This place won’t stay open long if they don’t get better employees and management in this place. Whataburger is a fan favorite of my families and I’d honestly drive to the Alabama location than to experience the dining experience we had here again. I will gladly post a photo of the cashier who was so rude and disrespectful to everyone she...
