The Halal Guys — Restaurant in Georgia

I would like to start we did think the food was tasty. There were some sanitation issues, which boils down to whoever is put in charge of ordering and training. We went to The Halal guys for the first time on Saturday. Ordered 4 sandwiches and 4 fountain drinks. The first issue occurred when my husband used the restroom and they were out of hand soap. He told one of the workers who did not speak English and she went to the back, where we though she was getting soap to refill the container. She never came back. My husband let one of the other workers know and she said they were out of hand soap. They let him use the kitchen hand washing sink that is intended for employees. If there is no soap, then I am concerned about the employee restroom as well. Employees are supposed to wash their hands before they leave a restroom and then use the handwashing sink in the kitchen to wash their hands again before returning to work. The second issue occurred when my daughter was using the soda fountain. The regular coke had a string of mold that was dangling every time she pressed the dispenser. I checked the other dispensers and they had mold in them as well, which tells me they are not removing the nozzles and cleaning them. When we let one of the employees know and showed her the issue, she removed only the coke nozzle and rinsed it out in the employee hand washing sink. This is a health department violation. It should have been washed, rinsed and sanitized in the dishwashing sink. If there are strings of mold on the fountain machine, it is not getting regularly cleaned. My daughter didn't want to finish her food because of the soda issue, it made her nervous about eating the food. Then the icing on the cake was my husband found a hair on his sandwich. This I am not going to be too critical of since all of the girls had their hair tied up. I am not sure if in Georgia they have to wear hair nets or hats, but they weren't. Regardless hairs can track easily on clothing and other items so it can happen. My husband at this point wanted his money back for his sandwich and all of the drinks since we were not touching the soda. The girls were nice and did refund us what we asked for. The dining room was empty and the business was slow when we got there, so it was surprising some of the tables were dirty and not wiped down. Honestly the girls were nice, and there are some things I don't fault them for because it all boils down to who is training them and who is ordering enough soap for the restaurant. I contemplated writing a review, but if I were a restaurant owner I would want to know if I wasn't doing something right that could potentially get customers sick and shut down my restaurant. Wanted mediterranean food and decide to try this place. We were super excited, but unfortunately, we’re disappointed with the experience and the food.

There were two employees there. The service was definitely without a smile and honestly, I felt like we were burdening the employee. We did let them know that it was our first time there, but neither employee explained anything about the food or welcomed us.

We ordered three large gyro plates and two drinks and our order came out to be around $56. I did request to try the chicken before I ordered to make sure the chicken had enough seasoning and in my opinion it lacked flavor. And the spicy chicken was too spicy for me. It was heat with no flavor in my opinion. That’s why we decided to go with the Gyro meat instead. They were very stingy with their toppings we had to request additional tomatoes, which they did not seem to be happy about since both employees looked at each other. And an extra packet of sauce was $1. Considering how small the packet is, you would think the large bowl came with two packets of sauce but no. You only get one.

For the amount of money we paid, it was definitely not worth it. The rice lacked flavor & even the gyro meat was subpar (Who can mess up Gyros?). The drinks were meh. Needless to say the food was bland! Personally, I will not be returning, and I will not be recommending this place to anyone...

First time customer and maybe last for this location...

I arrived around 6pm on a Saturday with 1 customer in front of me. The customer in front decides to do a group/party order and also seemed like she was unsure of what to actually order... Really?! There should be a limit to an order especially if you have a line now being formed and you don't know what you want.

Once that fiasco was over it was my turn to order but to my surprise the employee informs me they have no chicken nor is the chef around at the moment (how does this happen?!). The employee assures me it wont take long and to sit down at a table. After a good bit of time waiting a wave of people entered the store and the chicken was done and I was left out of line...

Really?! I just wasted a good 15min drive to help support this store and this is how people get treated?
