To the non-dairy and vegan folks, be careful of this place. Their staff is NOT trustworthy to know what "vegan" means. Im severely allergic to dairy products; milk, cheese, cream, yogurt etc. So, it's rare I get to enjoy cakes and desserts from cafes or shops.
My partner wanted to surprise me with a treat afterwork last friday. He said he asked the lady behind the counter several times "it's vegan, right? Non dairy?" And the lady assured him it was.
He bought it, brought it home, I took ONE bite and immediately felt the tingle on my tongue and my throat becoming swollen. Luckily, I spit it out and I did not swallow the food which would have led to full blown anaphylaxis, an epipen stick, and a trip to urgent care.
Their box even has a little cute green stamp that says "vegan" but whatever cupcake this was, IT WAS NOT NON DAIRY/VEGAN.
Im sure their staff is underpaid and they just dont care to understand what "vegan" is, so Im not terribly angry at the lady whom my partner trusted.
It's really annoying and incredibly disappointing.
I'll be sticking to making my own desserts again for a while. It's a little traumatizing whenever this happens. I/we ask and ask associates over and over to that point I'm the annoying Karen customer, making sure it's vegan/non dairy. But, Im just trynna live and enjoy life. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me first start by saying I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this place. I knew once I traveled to Atlanta from North Carolina I had to stop in. Not only were the cupcakes out of this world but the customer service received from this young lady was amazing. Kashayla has a smile that brightens your day little did this young lady not know I was having a rough day on the inside her customers service skills helped me. I couldnāt decide on a cupcake choice she didnāt rush me in fact she suggested cupcakes for my special sugar free diet. Needless to say we will be stopping back by on our way out back to North Carolina this weekend. I sure hope she is working. Kashayla keep up the good work. Customer service plays a huge part in todays society. I have read others reviews and this young lady has a bright future...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI kept hitting the stars, but it maxād out at five. š I read on NextDoor that the Buford Smallcakes location offered gluten free cupcakes. I stopped in today and tried one. OMG!! Itās so good. Itās so moist. And theyāre big! Not like a tiny version of the real thingā¦if youāre gluten free you know what I mean. And guess what?! The Snellville location has GF cupcakes, too!! I happened to meet the owner and she was super sweet and informed about gluten (ha! pun intended!) and Iām happy to support this local small business. In fact, as soon as I leave Sprouts, Iām going right back to get two more cupcakes!
They also have ice cream thatās made on site. You can order gluten free cupcakes and pick up the same day. Iāll do that next time for the GF marble cupcakes, those were out...
