Ok, so once in a while this Americanized Frenchman craves Chicken Wings, my favorite part of this bird. I loved Chicken wings before Hot wings were a thing... long story for another time maybe. This evening, my son and his fiancee were my guest and they highly recommended Mr. P's, usually frequenting their Southaven Location. We headed to the Hacks Cross store, a little closer to where we were at the moment. This one is really setup like a Sports Bar, but with Beer only. Immediately upon entering, you can tell it's a little runned down. TV screens frozen in time or stuck on the lovely pink channel, tables questionably aging and sticky, old neons not working... and a big stage at the entrance sort of setup but not really, assuming for live music. It's 7 PM and there are 3 tables eating or drinking including us. I know it's Tuesday night but still suspicious. Our Server brightened up the place, charming and efficient. We came for wings so that is what we got, 3 orders, 2 boneless and one traditional for me. Season Fries were extra. The wait a bit long considering how "busy" was this pretty large Restaurant was. To our surprise, a Saxophone Entertainer started to setup but the sound check was so loud that we decided to move outside on the patio. Super pleasant evening to eat out but we did have to dodge trash and various obstacles to find a suitable table. On our way out, the entertainer offered us some free wine, loosely displayed on a nearby table. We passed on that, wondering if it was even legal to do that in a wing joint. The wings finally came in, followed by fresh out of the fryer seasoned fries. J and M boneless wings were split between Honey Gold and Teriyaki, mine only Honey Gold, the mild version. I like my fries hot so I started with those, deliciously seasoned with lemon pepper. Now the reason we came: the wings. Well, while they were good, they had been slightly overcooked and therefore were a little dry. Dry chicken is like most dried meat: no matter how much sauce they swim in, they are still dry. From the comments of my Guests, theirs were cooked perfect and were yummy. We did get regular visits from our Server but she lost her pedestal when she mixed up our drinks, returning from refills. By now, the Sax player had started his routine for the hand full of patrons present, playing his heart and pushing his free wine. So what can I say? Good service, mixed reviews on the wings, not a well kept Restaurant, with loud music on a Tuesday night... Probably will not come back and drive a little bit further to...

So this was my third visit. First two times were just pick up. This time I decided to eat there. Place has never been busy when I stop by nor was it on a Saturday afternoon.
So I order an appetizer, some wings and a basket of French fries. The appetizer came out with the wings. Bit annoying but I guess wings are just another appetizer there. The issue is the waitress brought the wrong food she walks by drops it on the table and just walks away. I look it over and notice the order is wrong. It takes a minute to get another waitress attention to ask her to please get my waitress who went up stairs busy on her cell phone. When she finally comes back I start to say I think theirs an issue with the food. She cuts me off and says they are making the rest of the wings. Oh and Fries will be ready in a few minutes. She then walks away again. No silverware given or anything.
It’s nice that she knew their was an issue but when she brought the food out it would be better for her to stop for a second and say “The rest will be out shortly”, or “their was a slight mix up with the wings but they are fixing it.” Instead of just dropping off part of the order and walking away. Luckily my 3 year old was a champ while he waited for his basket of fries (portion wise basket is not that big just to warn you.) Never once came to check on if we had any issues with the food. I ended up only having one drink because she wasn’t around to ask for another. I know the other waitress was busy with her boyfriends table of 6 but still we can see you standing over there on your phone.
After I drove by Buffalo Wild Wings and it was full as usual. I would have to say that is just due to service as the food is good.
Oh the Potato skins are not normal they have barbecue on them. Not mentioned anywhere on menu so wanted to give you a heads up. My three year old didn’t really like them but I thought they were good. Wings were...
Read moreWe drove in from Tacoma,WA. We heard a lot of great things about Mr.P’s and decided to give them a try. We called in our order for take out. After a long drive we were hungry and tired. It was very easy to get to. Right off the expressway and it was really nice inside. It was very crowded when we arrived...which wasn’t a problem until we noticed the Staff looked a bit unapproachable. We waited about 5 or 6 mins before we were helped which wasn’t a problem considering how busy it was. I was charged $23 for MUSHY fried green tomatoes that were EXTREMELY salty, a 3 piece fish (which I thought would be CATFISH but it was really SWAI) and a hand full of French fries with about 3 1/2 bites of coleslaw. I was under the impression that I would get a “side” of coleslaw but they placed my “side” of coleslaw in a condement container. Geez...I came to read the reviews after I ordered and consumed some of the food which was a mistake because I started reading the ones about people getting sick 😷 ...And now I’m a little queezy..but I could be buggin cause of the long drive and the SLIMEY SWAI...but reading the SICKLY REVIEWS makes me think otherwise. I was given 2 packets of hot sauce with 3 pieces of SWAI. The upside was the music was great and there was one particular waitress that was really nice and helpful. Dang! I was REALLY hungry too....
