My wife, our son and I had gift cards to use so we had lunch here today. The place was pretty empty so we quickly found a table and Jess, our server, was right there with menus. My wife unknowingly ordered the same Grilled Chicken Avocado sandwich as last time along with a side of onion rings. I opted for the Buffalo Burger because I've never had one before and went with a side of French fries. Our son ordered the Bacon Aioli Burger with a side of onion rings.
Surprisingly for a burger chain, the both burgers were bland, very very bland. A burger patty cries out for salt but sadly in the kitchen no one heard it. The only distinguishing flavor characteristic of my burger was the gaminess of buffalo meat. I also chose BOB sauce for the fries and that was bland, too. The fries themselves were a little limp on the outside and also suffered from a lack of seasoning. Our son had the same complaint of blandness about his Bacon Aioli Burger. He thought the onion rings were good but not great.
But ironically for a burger place, my wife's Grilled Chicken Avocado sandwich was the star of the show. Perfectly cooked with the grill flavor bursting forth with each bite. She also thought the onion rings were good but not great. After taking a couple of bites of the chicken sandwich, I wish I'd followed through on my first choice and ordered one of the other grilled chicken sandwiches.
Even though I've rated this Blazing Onion a 4, our server Jess deserves a 5. Attentive but not intrusive, friendly and personable, returning at the right times to check in and refill water glasses, we'd gladly sit in her station again. We considered her the other star of the show.
We may return for the chicken sandwiches since we have a balance left on one of the gift cards but we won't be ordering burgers, fries or the BOB sauce. But we did have a...
Read moreWe've been to this location a few times and have enjoyed the food and had great service until our recent visit. While I was ordering, an elderly man came in to pick up his to-go order. From the conversation he had with the workers, he was a regular customer that seemed to get the same order every time. He mentioned to the young men working that the total on his order was wrong, and asked if they gave him his military discount. Turns out, they did not and they had to fix it, and apply a refund to his card. He didn't seem very bothered by that, but the kids working seemed bothered that they had to fix the mistake that they made! They were very disrespectful after he left with one of them saying, "oh, my God" because he hard a hard time hearing them and they had to repeat themselves once or twice. Many things ran through my head when this happend and I should have spoken up and spoke to the manager but I didn't, and I regret it.
First, many of these elderly veterans are on a fixed income. It wasn't his fault that they forgot to provide him with his discount and then they were bothered when they had to fix the transaction. Second, these kids have to understand that they are in their place of business and should have respect for customers. They wouldn't have a job if it weren't for their customers!! Their parents need to teach them respect!
I was so mad at the way they handled that situation and explained to my own teenagers that it is never okay to act like that, especially at your place of employment. It really just rubbed me the wrong way, and I should have spoken up! I hope these kids can be better and do better and are respectful to all their customers...
Read moreThe food was amazing. But it only takes one person to ruin the experience. This restaurant has a separate dining section to the right of the front door, and it's a little more secluded. We loved the idea. We walked over after ordering our food. And the customers leaving that area politely said, "we're heading out, help yourself to the tables." Mind you, all the tables were dirty in the section except one small table in the corner, but it was only my husband and I and our daughter. It was perfect for us. The restaurant was busy. We didn't want to rush anyone. So we walked over and sat down. (Little did we know, a group of people were about to come buss the tables.) Then, all of a sudden, an employee came around the corner yelling, "Your not even going to let us clean the tables before sitting down," with a very rude tone. So I rudly responded with, " Well, this table looks clean to me." She then says, "All the tables look dirty to me." I refused to continue to argue with this woman in front of my daughter. Then she made us wait while her and a few other people cleaned all the tables. Cleaning them all together instead of cleaning one completely at a time. Never in my life have I been yelled at and treated so disrespectfully by a restaurant employee. The only reason I gave this restaurant 2 stars for the service is because the employee who helped us after was very polite. Knowing how to politely speak to people in a customer service roll is 80% of the job. If she had asked us nicely to wait until they bussed the tables, I would've had no problem. But she spoke to my family and I like we...
