Love,Love,Love this restaurant. The decor and music set the mood for an enjoyable evening. There is lots of greenery that doubles as partitions, clever. The restaurant is clean, and the bar was organized & the countertop didn't have the sticky feel that most bars do. The seating at the bar is comfortable. Additionally, there is indoor/outdoor seating.
We came in about 10 mins to closing and were still able to sit at the bar to order anything on the menu. We were not rushed out and were given the most amazing service by all staff. Not once did I see the staff rush anyone out or ignore anyone.
The Greenhouse cocktails list has thoughtfully named drinks, thay are tasty, created by the owner. She is clever.
There is something on the menu for everyone, and it's good. If you don't eat meat, you can ask for it to be left out. Lots of gluten-free options. However, they specifically stated they are not a GF certified kitchen.
I must say that the plating of all the food is beautiful, clean, and appealing. For the appetizer, we chose the herbed goat cheese with roasted garlic baguette. It was delightful and flavorful. The baguette was toasted to perfection, and the goat cheese was soft, tangy, and flavorful. It was a perfect start to the meal.
The wild seafood saute salad was packed with tons of seafood covering a bed of spinach. I thought it would be small, but I was surprised, as this is a massive bowl filled with seafood, tomatoes, carrots, and mushrooms cooked in a wonderful wine sauce. Seafood lovers, this is a must!!! What a smart & tasty way to reduce carbs. I think I was able to eat 1/3 of it and took the rest home.
I wish I could remember what one of the steaks we got, I think it was the ribeye, but it was perfectly done. He likes them more on the rare side. It is difficult for him to find a steak done the way he likes it, BUT his steak was cooked perfectly to his liking in both temp and taste. It was sitting atop a fluffy bed of garlic mashed potatoes. A side of rosemary au jus and grilled/sauted fall veggies (mushrooms, bell peppers, & Zuchinni). He ate every bit of it and loved it all.
The staff talked with us not only about the food but about themselves and how happy they are to work there. Management and owners are doing a great job. Your staff loves the creativity and the food. It was our first time there, but we will be back. We have several recommendations of meals and...
Read moreWe came in for a 4:30 reservation on a Sunday for our anniversary. We were not offered/given the Twilight menu that is broadly on Facebook as Sunday-Thursday 3pm-5:45pm. Our servers were excellent (they changed partway through). My husband is allergic to lemon and the water automatically comes with lemon - it might be nice to just ask first. The food was excellent, coursed and timed properly, and cooked as requested on the steak temp. There was a large party in the corner for a sweet 16 birthday that was extremely loud and boistrous, taking away from our dining experience, and the father YELLED into the entire restaurant (after they all shouted and clapped the birthday girl's name multiple times) "It's okay, it's her birthday!" No, it's not okay, and this is where someone needs to step in and tell them they are not the only party in the restaurant. Yes, they were probably a large check and a good portion of the evening's revenue, but it really took away from our own celebration. On that note, why ask if we are celebrating anything special on the OT reservation if it's not bothered to be acknowledged? I see other comments where anniversaries are given complimentary champagne. Just be consistent. We didn't expect anything, so no harm there, but just... why ask? Lastly, I want to comment on the new ownership and their acceptance of gift cards/gift certificates. When you purchase a restaurant, most often you accept the outstanding liabilities of the gift cards and gift certificates issued. Ours (acquired in April 2022) was not accepted, and there was no way to know prior to our reservation that it would not be honored. As a matter of good will to this community, it would be best to just accept them as the holder has no way of knowing that they are no longer valid. "There's no way for us to redeem it" is what I was told by the server. I have a very hard time believing that, as someone in hospitality for the last 20 years. Very disappointed in how this...
Read moreI made reservations to celebrate my parents anniversary. When we arrived the hostess called over another woman who stated that we only had bar reservations, and since there was a child with me we could not be seated.
I tried to explain that when I made the reservations online it did not give me options for bar seating or restaurant sitting but simply made the reservations. She then proceeded to say I'm the owner and this is how you make reservations. She kept talking over me and would not let me get a word in, pulled out her phone and started to show me how to do it correctly. All this while many customers were waiting to be seated behind me. She was dismissive and condescending. Finally after she was done talking I pulled out my phone and showed her how I made the reservation. She was able to see that indeed the application I used did not allow me to choose where I was going to be seated. She finally gave up and said either I could wait an hour or she could seat me by the door where people were going in and out of the restaurant. Given it was freezing temperatures I did not feel it appropriate to subject my 3-year-old and my elderly parents to the freezing weather.
We decided to take our business elsewhere and went to Formosa across the street. The staff greeted us kindly, the owner came and spoke with us and even sat down with us. The entire experience at Formosa more than meet up for the cold and condescending experience at Green House. Having tried fine dining restaurants all over the major cities in the US as well as internationally, I was looking forward to eating here. But have never experienced such horrible service from a restaurant so just based on that alone will not try it and will not recommend...
